The man vs. bear analogy doesn't really apply here, I don't think. According to the graphic novels, Preds are fairly large (most are 7 ft.+) and possess extraordinary strength, speed and agility. As I said before, a pred is strong enough to lift vehicles and jump two to three stories up. They're also capable of running up to 50mph and quick enough to dodge bullets. Of course, in the movies they were totally unable to re-produce a realistic Pred because there wasn't any CGI advance enough to produce it, it was some big, clumsy guy wearing an alien suit. The acid won't effect them all that much either because not only are they immune to it, but they elephant hide that's croc-tough. If you were to compare a Pred to any other comic book character, the Pred is basically a larger, stronger, faster version of Wolverine minus the regenerative abilities.
