Alien VS Predator... who do you put your money on?

Regarding the Intelligence level of the Predator, I will not take anything away from the Predator being so smart, but the fact is that one lifetime cannot equal the genetic instinct to kill that an Alien has. Aliens do not live as long as Predators, so yes they are not very "book-smart", but they know one thing and only one thing, to kill. They have had countless generations to perfect the art of killing, especially a lone, mostly defensless Predator.

About the Predator hunting Aliens thing... Groups, weapons, open areas. People hunt Bears, Tigers, even Elephants. I bet if you Put a dude in a Raquetteball court with any of these, they will most likely get mauled like Roy.

And one more point for all of you book guys, without the Helmet thing the Predator has, he has lots of difficulty breathing oxygen. He loses alot of strength and can only breath O2 for 24hrs b4 he dies....

For this reason, I choose an Alien all the way.

Also, the Predator has really shty Eyesight...

And the movie will most likely be very freakin gay. I just hope its a big money flick so that the Aliens and Predators can look nice. I'd like to see some people get mauled by the alien tag team.

i'm going with predator. predator has WAY too many weapons. just as not as agile but probably just as strong, alot smarter also. top it all off they have this stealth camoflage that is really handy. and if all else fails they'll use they're self-destruct and take out as many aliens as predator-ly possible.

I'd put my money on the Aliens. Aliens have instinct and their senses are heightened for the purpose of killing and/or infecting their prey to breed and survive. Cloak will do little to hide a Predator's scent. Predators just look like they have really bad breath. And as far as their intelligence...hey, if Arnold can beat them....

if you saw predator 2 w/...danny glover. the scence in the ship you'll see they have the skull of aliens as well as humans. and like i said earlier...just too many weapons. predators are hunters (hense the name) not prey...they also have a killer instinct and its looks like they're pretty battle harden, and lets not forget the infered vision.

The Aliens kill their prey by hiding and pouncing. They depend on the element of surprise and overwhelm unweary foes. Hiding in the dark will serve them little purpose as the Pred can see them a mile away using his infrared scope. The Predator would scout out and study his primitive, archaic alien foe and lie in wait downwind. From a distance of up to 300m, he would pick off hordes of Aliens using a long-range rail gun or turn them into bitesize E.T.'s with his explosive plasma rounds.

FYI, n the graphic novels, the Yautjas (the Preds) have uncanny physical abilities. They're supposedly as strong as a bear (strong enough to flip over small vehicles) and have the reflexes of a feline.

Don't bring up the ridiculous Arnold or Danny Glover arguments. I find them much more formidable than....SIGOURNEY WEAVER in her skivvies... :rolleyes Let's not forget how she man-handled a colony of aliens in the first movie.

although it's been established that the predator wouldn't have all the equipment in this hypothetical fight, according to Aliens (2nd movie), the aliens don't show up on infrared imaging . . . watch it again if you don't believe me. .

well in the comics books. Predators would release aliens, or let them colonize a planet. and young predators would hunt them down for sport. guess its like a way for them to enter group or clan....adulthood, etc ( its like a tradition).

put it this way...if this was a handicap match, pred vs. Aliens. the predator would take as many out as he/she can but be completely overhelm by them. but if its a one on one match...predators all the way.

About the Infared, f8sjester, You are completly correct. I have been rewatching the moveis for the past couple of days.

Mr1der: Regular drone Alien, and average, middle aged Predator. I know the Predators get rawer the older they are, and that the Aliens catch on to sht quicker the older they are. Just imagine they all went to the same football game and one was a Dolphins fan and the other was a Jets fan. They decided to duke it out later in the raquetteball court. Predator saw the gangstaness of the Alien and decided to bring his claw.

Also dude, chicks are evil, and the hottest ones are usually the heart rippers. So I would always put my money on the Sexy looking beast. They are sexy for a reason. Just think of a 180sx type X.....

(Biased opinion) Not only that, but maybe the Predator might realize how fruity he was and agree to inter-species love. Then the homophobe Alien would rip his brain out..... That might explain the Predators need for a huge mouth. (Biased opinion)

Atually maxI30t, in all of the research I have done, it seems the first time Predators encounted Aliens, they took heavy losses. Then they thought about your Idea, and when they attempted to hunt, they were murdered. They decided to leave that planet be, and only hunted in small quantities. till quantities was about 3 Predators for every 10 Aliens, but not like a whole planet. If you collected the comic books, they were very double-sided, one week having the Aliens being incredible and then the Predators the next week. Still the Predator is raw with all of the weapons, but unfortunately to have the upper hand he needs them.

And for all the people talking abou the skulls in the Predator ship, just google "Predalien". If you can let a Facehugger shove his alien meat in your mouth, you really cant be that raw.

I still stand my ground and say that the Alien would win.
