Call me an idiot, bash the idea I don't care because this will happen because I have yet to see ONE car out there with such a feature. Sure some have the mirrors hooked up to the Keyless entry....But this makes the car come alive. Well even more alive. If only i could get the headrests to go up as well and even a 5 speed, I dare you to find a better car.
I can wire up the OEM connector in 2 seconds and make that work. The connector is all plug and play and I plan to use the 1994-1996 Q45 looking face with a 1990-1993 Q45 rear connector. I shall call it the Franken-Switch.
Problem is I always want to have cake and eat it too (I need to lose weight )
I want to be able to have three settings on the switch and two already exist:
Manual fold out (Up)
Auto fold in and out (Center)
Manual fold in (Down)
Now the Auto fold in and out is the tricky part since it would have to be wired to the key switch its self or on to the Automatic Driver Postioner Control Unit. But what confuses me is that the key switch is normally open so that means when the key is out there is NO CONTACT/CONTINUITY. And the key switch receives power from a 10 AMP fuse and grounds to pin #4 on the ADPCU*, its a analog ground* too.
So how can I use the above in such a way that the mirrors close when the key is removed, hopefully at the same time that the steering wheel goes up and seat goes back?
And mind you there is less than 1.0 volt when the key is removed from the ignition. So thanks to PoormansQ45 I found out I need a relay that could multiply that voltage.
Would it make sense to use the analog ground as a trigger so when the key is removed the ground is seen. And if needed I can reverse the polarity with yet another relay to make it all work?
I know that I have to use at least one relay to open the mirrors using the key switch as a trigger.
