You have great points, But I was refferning to the 1990-1993 Q45's as these mirrors and cars are more common around where I live and I know these cars inside and out (At least I think I do).

But I think on the 1994+ Nissan President there would be a button on the mirror switch but I have no idea.

And your mirror are heated but the button is on the HVAC controls, WHen you press the defroster button on the Heater controls the mirrors will de-fog/de-ice.

Hope we find a solution to the 1994+ mirror conversion.

On the 90-93 it's a button on the side view mirror switch. On the 94-96 the heated mirrors come on with the defroster switch.

If I find the mirrors then I will do one for a 1993 Q45, You should be able to work with that.

But from what I have seen (Pictures around the internet) I don't see ANY heated power forlding mirrors.

OK Just an update on my progress:

I have found a Heated/Auto/power folding mirror switch

I was up till 2 AM but I found it: Source: http://page13.auctions.yahoo.c...56062 Before finding that picture I had thought about cutting up a 1990-1993 Q45 mirror switch since the heater switch is already cut out, Or I could have cut out a 1994-1996 Q45 switch because it is 2 MM bigger.

But this is basically proof of existence but let me say those switches are rarer than a NICO 8 way ECU or perfect Q45 for cheap money.

But I am determined to find them and so far that has gotten me very far in life.

OK I have a new Idea:

Can these mirrors be hooked up to the ADP AKA Automatic Driver Positioner though its fuse?

I want it so when you put thee key in the ignition, The seat comes forward and steering comes down and the mirrors fold out. The only problem is that I don't want to hack up the car's harness, I want to keep everything factory and ever modification removable.

Any ideas welcome.

just use a wire tap, later if you remove it you can remove the tap and tape it up

OK here is the USDM mirror switch assembly taken apart: http://picasaweb.google.com/pp...witch#

The only thing stopping me is how to hook them up to the ignition switch, Just need to do some more research on that.

Sorry to bump an old thread but I seemed to have missed this.

I have JDM mirrors on my car and I am curious if they do auto fold...

I plugged the mirrors into the factory USDM harness no problem, BUT when I try to adjust the mirrors, nothing happens... When I turn on the defrost button (rear window button) the mirrors adjust all the way up and make clicking noises from the motor being at its full length. I wonder if this will help you figure it out? I was going to play with the wires one day and figure them out but I never seem to get around to it...

Well I will admit I hate to give you the answer and have you beat me at my own game, but there is nothing I can do now so here goes:

The USDM Q45's (Infiniti Q45) were wired up for heated mirrors ONLY.

The JDM Q45's (President JS, Or actual Q45's) were wired up for power folding mirrors, unless you were lucky to get one with power folding and heated mirrors together.

But right now where your wirring is differn't I am trying to see whats going on because Crimson Q (Red Q45 and long time NICO member) got JDM Power folding mirrors. But everytime he pressed the switch for the heated mirrors the mirrors would fold I think in or out. But he had a 1990-1993 Q45 so his wirring was nearly the same as the JDM Q45's.

But do you have the switch for the mirrors as well?

But I think that because your heated mirrors are switched on by the defroster switch and not a seprate switch all in its self, Well that just complicates things.

If I were you I would review the FSM , even print it out the wiring diagram and take it with you till you find the solution. Because I would have to work backwards of Qship96's excelent Idea of wirring the mirrors to the defroster switch.

Or you can try to locate as JDM Q45 FSM and a Japanese person to translate it for you for a faster answer.

You can email me and I will give you my number because I think I talk better than I can type.

Well I'm curious if my President mirrors even have auto fold... would there be resistance when you folded them manually?

They should.

Did you only get the mirrors and not the switch as well?

And yes you could possibly damage them becase they are electronicly operated.

No, there was no switch. I'm thinking about taking them apart to see if the motor is even there...

You can always wire the motor of the mirror to the ignition so when it turns on it opens something like the stereos.

The motors are there trust me. But I would work on getting the switch too.

Can you move the mirrors at all using the Original mirror switch?

Can you possibly email name of the people you got the mirrors from and maybe so more info?

Nope the window adjustment knob doesn't work. I got it from Masahiro Tabata at JZS INTERNATIONAL.

Hmm this is turning out to be harder than I thought. I would contact Qisguy and CrimsonQ on this one and see what they have to say.

But like I said I think that because the differnces in the 1994-1996 Q45 wirring the mirrors won'nt work unless you got them from a later year such as JDM model from 1994 and up. The reason is because of the BCM* that makes it so much more differn't.

I suggest your return them for for later model mirrors.

"Hi, Thomas-san. We thank you for your message. We just contacted Nissan Dealer about the President G50 mirror, and they said that the all President G50 has the auto folding mirror function. There is not the one without the function in Japan. Thank you very much. My Best Regards,JZSINTERNATIONAL,JAPANMasahiro Tabata"

I understand the above. But you really need the switch its self to see if they work, With out it how did you plan on retracting the mirrors?

The above picture I posted is the switch, but behind the switch is all sorts of new wirring. Is there any way to get more info on the wirring behind the switch?

Never thought I would quote myself.

Ok, so I played with the wires for a little while today on the left mirror. I basically reversed the plug wires and put that in the harness. What happened was magical yet not what I wanted. The left mirror now folds in when I press the defrost button and when I press the button again it stops but still puts tension on the motor, which caused the right mirror to swivel the lens up and click click click...

The lens adjustment still doesn't work so I am kind of lost without a FSM from the President.

Great work indeed!!!

But really compare the 1990-1993 to 1994-1996 Q45 FSM wirring diagram. I can scan the mirror wirring diagram for you if you want too.

I'm giving up on this. I'll just be happy manually setting my mirrors and leaving them folded out. I'm sure once I can legally import a 2000 HG50 President then I will have my mirrors work

I am also interested in this. I am here in the United States and the other week I was reversing out of a tight apartment parking stall and hit me mirror it was facing towards the front of the car. Thankfully theres no damage but I can see usefulness for it.

Since I have a 1994.... the mirror defroster turns on when you press the button for the rear defroster. Can I add the switch from the 1993 Q45 which has the defrost button and use that as the button to switch the folding mirrors if I had folding mirrors... I mean all it needs is a trigger switch, right??

I can't seem to get power folding mirror's from Panda Garage or the super rare and special power folding/heated mirror switch.

So 1994-1996 Q45's CAN'T as far as I know have the power folding mirror's hooked up to the lock and unlock signal from the key less entry remote. 1994-1996 Q45's maybe able to have the power folding mirror's hooked up to the door lock and unlock commands but still not really cool I suppose.

1990-1993 Q45's are the lucky ones here because there is no BCM. And if you add a J30 key less entry system you can certainly attach the power folding mirrors to that. Not sure why you would because attaching them to the key switch is the way to go, so they work with the Auto Driver Postioner. And yes 1994-1996 Q45's can go this way too if you so desire.

If I really give up on finding them I will post on how to make it work on a 1990-1993 Q45.

Anyone in Japan want to help a brother out, I will defiantly give you credit and some USDM Q45 goodies.

If anyone wants to see the rare switch:

I have yet another question about the mirrors:

Can they be tied into a speed sensor signal like the Auto Driver Positioner is?

The Auto Driver positioner memory buttons can't be pressed above 4 MPH and we all know folding the mirrors in by accident at 35MPH+ can be bad. But having the speed sensor in the middle of the circuit like the trunk cancel switch is set up would be beneficial in order to prevent accidents.

I would hope new car's would be set up the same way. Well except for Toyota because going 100+ MPH could only be worse if you had no side mirrors.
