Perhaps, but most of us don't know the OP even with that disclosure. My impression was more that OP has concern for the unknown. Similar to Nala's fears last year about showing up to Carlisle and getting kicked in the ballz as promised by several people. He showed up, behaved himself, and his balls went unharmed.

so are you just going to dress and act like a woman? will this lead to a full on operation eventually? if not, how will you handle not being able to queef? just fart and call it something else?

I already have. She as already accepted this and supports me fully. She was a lesbian before she met me. Works out well now. Thanks for your concern though.

The people there at BestBuy support your decision? Didn't know if Management would have a problem with your alternative life choices. See, their employment contract is with a male and they may not need another female employee.

As of right now I am starting hormones replacement therapy next month, for the 2nd time. Full operation at this time is debatable at this time. As far as queefing, not really something I'd want to do with a vag. :P

Actually yes Best Buy does support it fully. We have a large active GLBT community with in Best Buy, and it is also illegal for a business to discriminate against gender or people who identify as GLBT in Minnesota.

Also some one wanted a picture in this thread. So here's one, of my car.

If they know that's fine. Not sure how it would be discrimination for them letting you go if you didn't tell them and it was not within guidelines you agreed to when accepting the job....

Ah, if it involves a minority or a gay then it's racism or discrimination card time. Gotcha.

You're gonna need to trade that S13 in. I'm thinking Subaru Forester or a Lexus SC430. :)

j/k - See you in Carlisle.

EDIT: If I'm grilling burgers in Carlisle and someone walks up and says, "hey, can you put some meat between my buns", I just might throw a haymaker.

Duck.

Congrats OP. Good for you and I wouldn't think anyone here on NICO really cares who are what you are, just that you like cars.

Now if i can ask a personal question. I work for hospital that helps evaluate sex change pateints and we have a surgeon who performs the operation but not on site. I wanted to ask you what gender will you choose to have sex with? One thing i have learned that is kinda a mind f***, is that just because you want to be a woman does not mean you want to sleep with men.

Gender or gender identity doesn't automatically define sexual orientation. I was very confused when i met my first heterosexual couple where the man as becoming a woman and have every intention of only sleeping with women after the surgery or vice-versa.

I know this can seem a self defeating reason for a sex change if you already have the proper plumbing to be with women. And this can really throw people threw loops. So I guess what I am asking is if you plan on staying with your wife and being sexually active with her, or are you going to sleep with men? It took me a long time to understand that just because a man wants to become a woman doesn't necessarily mean you want to sleep with men as well. Maybe you can shed some light on this topic for the community. Because most people think that you must be a gay man when reality that maybe be completely false.

Firewind, a co-worker of mine went through the process a number of years ago.

He had "known" from the age of 12 or 13 that life as a boy, and eventually as a man, just did not feel right to him. In his late(?) thirties, including being married for many years in that period, he finally realized what he needed to do - undergo the physical operation to change his gender.

His wife eventually came to accept it too - but, unfortunately, they did go through a separation and divorce at some point during the process.

Do remember that doctors will not rush to perform the surgery - in this particular situation, they want to be sure that decision is being made with all due consideration. And that there is no lack of understanding or mental incapacity to deal with the consequences. So, it takes years to make it all happen.

BTW, it took a while for all my co-workers friends to start thinking of "him" as a "her", but over time, it became second nature. During the transition period, she did change jobs too, where her previous gender was not known (although I do not think it would have been one at the previous company either).

The bottom line remains that we cannot advise you on this issue. You have to do whatever makes sense for you, but it is important to go through the counseling to make sure that it is indeed the right thing ... for you!

Good luck with the decision and process for sure!

Z

Oh man, I'd so lend my car out to be run in ladies. Exposure x 10.

Bad luck with scheduling =( Back to back regional events and I need as much seat time in this new car as I can get, as I'll be going to the SCCA National Championship in it.

You are 100% correct when you say Gender identity doesn't define sexual orientation, or rather attractions. Being transgendered is not just a sexual thing. If I wanted to have sex with guys and girls, I would just be a bisexual man. So for majority, changing one's gender is not about who you want to have sex with. It is almost a stereotype that people change their gender to trick others or so that they feel more conformable having sex with the same gender they were, but rarely the case and definitely not for me. For many is about feeling convertible with the way you have always felt. I have always felt more comfortable when I dressed as a woman, and acted as one. As if to say I forced myself to act more like a guy over the years. I have wanted to become a girl since I was 5 years old. I am sure many assume I came from a broken house hold, but that is hardly the case either.

I am very attracted to my wife and women. We are in a monogamous relationship, so I have no intentions of sleeping with anyone else, other than my wife.
AZhitman wrote:Are you an organ donor?

LOL, hate to burst your bubble, they don't cut it off. It's inverted. I am really curious as to who nala is...

I feel I should clarify, at this time I have not decided to have sexual reassignment surgery. This isn't all that uncommon, as the surgery isn't perfect there can be issues with scaring etc. However I do plan to go on hormone replacement therapy next month, which I am very excited about.

Thanks again everyone for your acceptance, and support. This thread has made my side hurt from laughing a few times. I am going to have to sell some stuff around the house to see if i can make up the money that I lost at the start of the year so that I can make it out to Carlisle. Maybe I'll have a good tax refund this year too! XD

Nala (Naladude911) is an obsessive, socially inept teen from an affluent NY suburb, who drives his mom's QX4. His legend took hold halfway thru his HS senior year, when he began obsessing about finding a prom date and losing his virginity. Not easy as he was uncomfortable talking to girls alone and petrified of rejection. Nala repeatedly asked NICO for advice, and he got plenty of good advice. Unfortunately he ignored ALL of it, followed his own misguided drama filled creepy path, and failed every single time. He then blamed everyone except himself for all his failures. This quickly developed into a repeating pattern and his drama filled strategies for losing his virginity became increasingly creepy. He also felt compelled to share waay too many intimate details about himself, and wouldn't stop. At some point, the jokes began to replace the advice. And so came the legend of Nala, creator of some of the funniest threads in General Chat.
