I'm hoping to either have new wheels by the spring, or have them painted a different color. We'll see... don't want to be an exact clone, as much as I love that car. lol.

Go with powder coated solid gold! Let the gramlights in my sig be your inspiration hehe. Seriously, do it...

I am iffy sometimes on black/gold... I had gold wheels on my white solara and loved it, but I am not so sure on this car. I kind of want to go with silver or gunblue.

I picked up some clean turn signal and wiper stalks, my faded ones were annoying...

Thanks man- I like the chuki front too, but I got the type x bug...

And I'm exploring wheel options now, but I think there will be something new by spring for sure.

Hey, do you know if the kouki crash bar is needed for the type x front? Can the chuki bar be made to work? What's the bumper retainer and where the heck does it go?

Sorry for all the questions. I did a quick search, but couldn't find any answers.

I honestly don't know yet, because I don't have the front end yet. It should be here some time next month.

Sorry if you stated it before, but what are you doing with your current side skirts? Possibly sell them to me?

Don't feel "bandwagoned" by going with the type x. If you like it then more power to you! No matter what you do it will look sick.

So how much did that complete front end run you, if you don't mind me asking? I'm looking into this myself.

I bought it all used from findjdm.com with the front lip. Because of the lip being included and the fact that it was discontinued about 6 months ago, what I paid is not a good indication of cost. Hop on to nissanparts.cc and look at the prices they have for the individual pieces. For all new oem, without the lip, you can expect to spend about $600 plus shipping for the front end- bumper, extensions, brackets, position lights, turn signal lights, etc.

I already have a kouki front end but no front lip. I'll opted to purchase a brand new-ish kouki front for $500 and get the replica lip from a company here in SoCal for $175.

I only asked how much you got it for because most importers who sell the lip wont part it out from the rest of the bumper. I just cant see myself paying around $1000 for a used bumper, lip, and lights from an importer.

Ah, okay. Well, it was less than $1k. I couldn't have a knockoff lip out here in Michigan... I would destroy it in a day. I need something poly that can take a little bit more abuse. That, and I heard some horror stories about Modiride's shipping and customer service, so I wanted to stick with oem.

I'll post what they are soon. Specs are pretty much the same as my Gram Lights, it was just time for a change.

haha, I would but it isn't here yet. The front won't be here for a few weeks still, and the sides should be here next week, along with the RPS13 Panel. Then I'll do a test fit of everything.

I actually worked on the car a bit last night! started pulling the turbo, intercooler piping, etc. I'm glad that the car is finally in the garage and not sitting outside anymore. I started pulling the fenders as well, since mine are pretty dented/cracked and I have some replacements going on, but I didn't finish that because I didn't have room to open the doors enough. I'll have to wait a bit longer to do that.

Snapped some quick pics of her new winter home:

RPS13 Panel:

I'm still not sure if I am going to pull the motor- time being my biggest constraint. If I do pull it, it will be during the week between christmas and new years. More updates soon!

haha, thanks... I was happy with the exterior for the most part, but wanted to give the kouki thing a shot. I liked my wheels, but I wasn't crazy about the black/red thing. Some days I liked it, and other days I hated it. If I could go back, I would have gotten them in gunblue or ceramic white. I just wanted to try something new I guess- my new wheels will be here Friday!

I haven't gotten much done on the car lately, aside from tear down and shopping for parts. I have my side skirts and will post a pic of them tonight. The Kouki front end should arrive from Japan sometime during or around next week, so that is exciting as well. I have been working to make arrangements to have the car painted in the spring and I think I have a solid lead for that. Right now, it is just a matter of deciding if I want to pull the motor to have the bay sprayed or now- I am leaning towards yes at this point.

I'll have another update soon as I begin to do more work and make some part decisions.

Side skirts:

I re-ordered cusco motor mounts today because most places were back ordered until the end of january, so those should be on the way. I'll update again monday with pics of the new wheels!
