Thanks man you're actually making it worth while to post on here. I also made a new blog for my car club a friend and I started a few years back. http://redgorillaz.wordpress.com/

Stay tuned for the next update if you want to find out why!

I pulled the engine only a few weeks ago, so most of this stuff isn't too long ago. The car just sat for a couple months and progress was slow.
I'll have more catch up stuff posted, but if you want the most recent state of my car: http://redgorillaz.wordpress.com/ I update this as soon as I get done working on my car.

Nice build, and I'm jelly of the SR.

Also, I've got the same wheels as you. I haven't met anybody else running HPP Crown Vic rims, but they do look off the chain.

Props!

Haha I looked all summer for a set and ended up just buying new on eBay. Of course, not long afterwards, I found several local. But hey that's how it goes I guess.

How well did the string alignment work? Any other info about how you did it? I need to do this because I can't justify paying $80+ for an alignment when I know I'm gonna do some steering angle mods later on that will throw that alignment money out the window.

Keep up the good progress!

Thanks, 240hatch and thank you cbh. Basically what you have to do is get two pieces of wood or pvc pipe and measure to the center of them. They have to be relatively slim so that you can hold them up with zip ties. I tied the rear one to the bottom holes on my rear license plate and the one in the front to my bumper support, cause I have no bumper atm. To center the pieces of wood with the center of the car it's really easy to eyeball it, because there are holes that the factory made in the core support and one tiny one under the rear license plate so that you know exactly where the center of the car is. From there measure out about 80cm from the center of the sticks (both front and rear) to each end and notch it there. Tie a string from the front to rear stick/pipe notches and you have a perfect alignment rack. Make sure to adjust your camber first as well.

I've gotten a new seat, relationship ended, new job, and moved into an apartment all in the last week. I'll have more updates eventually, but for anyone who wants to read a street drifting story for now:

Would you mind posting a straight on pic from behind to show what kind of exhaust ground clearance your exhaust has please? Maybe even a new video showing what it sounds like with the SR? Great attention to detail in this thread.

The guys at HKS did a great job designing this thing. Sits nice and close to the car. It also won't rattle on the tow hook. Mine just taps it every once in a while, because of my subframe bushing mod.

I got the seat with buddy club rails for 400 and I've learned to get around while being low. I can still make it over most speedbumps.

You'd be surprised. Just go slow and sideways and you can make it over some pretty crazy stuff. There's still some scraping but if you do it right there isn't any damage done.

Got T-boned making a left at a green light a few weeks ago. The guy came flying out of the dark with no headlights.I made a decent amount of cash back from his insurance and will be transplanting the entire power-train/drive-train into an m30 that I bought

I've had plenty of time to mourn over the last few weeks and am ready to move on. Bought the new chassis today.

If the mods approve, I'll keep posting on this thread, because the s13 subframes and sr will go into the f31, so essentially it will be a long and heavy s13 coupe.

That's why I've been thinking of just building a pile of s***. If it were to end up getting smashed into like this I wouldn't care. The conflict is that I see building cars as a way to express myself. My build was like an extension of my personality, so I can't build a s*** looking car :/

I was just reminiscing on my s13 and how I miss it and it reminded me of this thread!
I got an m30 infiniti (nissan F31), dropped the sr in it and a bunch of the suspension from the s13. It was a lot of work, which this time around I didn't document. Though, I do have some shots of it drifting:

The car definitely doesn't handle as well as an s-chassis. That being said, I'm learning a lot more from it. The s13 subframe might make its way in this summer, but for now I'm just upgrading the m30 stuff. So many parts from my old chassis have made their way into this that it's almost a reincarnation. I really <3 this car. :)
