Mine sounds like that too. I always thought it might be the intake that made that noise along with the BOV...? I have an HKS BOV, not recirced.

That WAS compressor surge. Ever been to a drag strip and seen nasty 6 and 7 second turbo cars burnout? Compressor surge city, which is what that car in the video sounds like.

And the consensus is that it was in kW, not HP. It converts to right around 700 something HP, I believe.

The engine has 765bhp (flywheel hp)

there's another vid of the engine on a engine dyno.

Hi. found this thread by our homepage stats...

The vid with the car driving are from last year, with 521hp.The smoke comes from heat bandage, and yes it missfired because a bad spark plug.

To this season we rebuilt the whole engine, and it has now 628hp@pumpgas and 765hp@VP Racefuel.

The noice comes when realesing the throttle and pressure hits back to the turbo, because the BOV are shut, prevented not to leak in the dyno.

We are using stock crank (displacement 2020cc) and there are stock valves in the head. Not any aftermarket tuning at all, We have made every part ourself, and many thanks to Swedish engine guru: "Dr.Ernie" for helping out with camshaft and intake runner design.

Our homepage will be translated into english in a short time so you guys can check out all our modifications, coolingsystem design like I think you have not seen on this type of engine.

Hi and welcome to NICO, you should post more often :)

Looks like I was correct about the misfiring (Baka!!) :D

Yeah, we yanks call that compressor wash or compressor surge when the airflow reverts back into the compressor.

yes, please translate to english... i'd love to know what was done to that thing.

yea after i posted before im agreeing it was compressor surge :D i remember when i didn't hook up the bov correctly and it wasn't venting into the atmosphere, it was sounding exactly like that. we don't have 6 second turbo cars in cleveland :pface

u can get that sound from the wastegate bouncing, im sure with that much hp those germans tuned it to not have compressor surge, cus that thing would be toast already.

Well, it's obvious when he initiates the burnout that he's not at full boost, so the wastegate shouldn't be open, much less bouncing, so it's pretty clear that's compressor surge.

Here is a vid of the car running:

http://www.madtech.se/film/mad...a.wmv

Here we are using regular pumpgas and making about 600hp.

A longer film with the building of the car are coming soon.

And here are a pic of our homemade clutch:

this is one point for me to get that SR 180 rather than the CA 180....or is that seriously a KA? but I'm not getting a left hand drive cuz I drive on the left RHD 4EVA!

if only I could get my car up to that much power...I'd PWN the dragstrip over here!
