Black and white is classic and tasteful. You cannot go wrong. I've always been a fan of mercedes and their performance lines, but damn they hurt the wallet when it comes time to customize... Not to mention the electronics... I'm a decent mechanic, but anything more complicated than a resistor makes me shut down...papafred wrote:I agree with you fat3oy ... I don't want what everybody else has.
Black is still my fav (had black E55 and black SL550) but wife likes white so we have gone to white ... thus white M56x.
Uprev sounded like a good place to start but didn't see setup for my car so I'll check that later.
I'm done with exterior so will hold back for a few months and decide IF I want to go with performance mods.
When I figure out how to do it (I'm still a rookie) ... I'll add a pic of my white M56x (with some black accents).
Thanks for ideas for future performance mods!

The only surefire way to get your exact ECU part # tho is with the Uprev software... you can call the dealer with your VIN but half the times they give you the wrong # anyways so its kind of a waste
Thanks!!!stm37s wrote:good build thread man and nice whip
Tire stretch is my s***... They are good to go, and have a ton of spares if the need arises... Yeah, once everything is settled I'll at least do some 1/4 pulls down at Zmax, no autocross type stuff... I just gotta get 1st and 2nd down right as right now doing a dig pull is useless, which for an AWD car disappoints...mexillis wrote:fat3oy let me know when you run the 1/4 mile and get some dyno graphs with hp at the wheels. I also have over 400hp at the crank lol....Just messing with ya but will you ever take it to the track once the timing is corrected? Also the ride looks nice by the way, now get some tires that arent stretched for all that hp!

I agree! That is something I've been wanting to take a look at. Doesn't seem like it would be too hard for a Vortec/Powerdyne. I played with an M45 Eaton when I had the intake off but there are major clearance issues up top so that is out. Passenger side header is done (was easy). Driver's side still has a lot of work to be done, lots more to fish around on that side of the engine. Exhaust is done (would be easy enough to install an X pipe and/or go true dual), intake porting is done, UpRev is installed and I hope by the end of the year to have the headers finished. Picked up some damaged Titan LT headers. Flanges on all the Nissan/Infini V8s are the same. Just reworking them for the M. I do not know how much performance, if any, will be added but you know I had to try! Long process, remove stock header and mess with the new one then re-install stock header to go to work on Monday. Port matching (oval to round) was the easy part.seymore4 wrote:Do shareDeanM45 wrote:I hope by the end of the year to have the headers finished.

No, he used the shorties, I'm using the long tube. Ken's was probably the better set up for a street car but heh, didn't cost me much for the headers and I enjoy doing the fab work.EniGmA1987 wrote:For estimated performance gains you could just look at what Ken got when he did the same thing
If you were local I'd do all the piping at cost just to make a kit to resell...msvara wrote:Fat3oy. I think your next project should be a sc m45. Start a kick start site for it. I'll donate
You'll see decent performance on long tubes... the shorties are a loss unless F/I... good idea on the titan headers...DeanM45 wrote:Picked up some damaged Titan LT headers.
