Black is still my fav (had black E55 and black SL550) but wife likes white so we have gone to white ... thus white M56x.
Uprev sounded like a good place to start but didn't see setup for my car so I'll check that later.
I'm done with exterior so will hold back for a few months and decide IF I want to go with performance mods.
When I figure out how to do it (I'm still a rookie) ... I'll add a pic of my white M56x (with some black accents).
Thanks for ideas for future performance mods!
Black and white is classic and tasteful. You cannot go wrong. I've always been a fan of mercedes and their performance lines, but damn they hurt the wallet when it comes time to customize... Not to mention the electronics... I'm a decent mechanic, but anything more complicated than a resistor makes me shut down...

I'll call uprev and see what roms are available... for curiosity sake. I'd be very surprised if they do not have a map for you. If I were you I'd keep the performance mods light and clean, like we've already said... exhaust, just to change it up, and a tune will leave you with uniqueness and credibility in the JDM world.

I look forward to seeing your car over the year once the custom bug bites again.

You can check what roms are available right now by looking on their site: www.uprev.com under the support page, open the "rom support matrix" and see whats there.

The only surefire way to get your exact ECU part # tho is with the Uprev software... you can call the dealer with your VIN but half the times they give you the wrong # anyways so its kind of a waste

fat3oy let me know when you run the 1/4 mile and get some dyno graphs with hp at the wheels. I also have over 400hp at the crank lol....Just messing with ya but will you ever take it to the track once the timing is corrected? Also the ride looks nice by the way, now get some tires that arent stretched for all that hp!

Tire stretch is my s***... They are good to go, and have a ton of spares if the need arises... Yeah, once everything is settled I'll at least do some 1/4 pulls down at Zmax, no autocross type stuff... I just gotta get 1st and 2nd down right as right now doing a dig pull is useless, which for an AWD car disappoints...

AND, once I have the car good to go and reliable on the 8lbs pulley I'll switch to the 12 (hopefully in the next month or so) and be in the mid 500's at the crank...

During the holidays I'm looking at axles, pistons and rods, then and a 15lbs pulley (also laying around the garage) which should hold me steady at the mid 600's...

NOW dont quote me, but I also have two little turbos sitting next to me (from my Z) that might find there way on next year, gotta keep up with those 1000hp Lambos at TX2k

Speaking of... Anyone wanna buy a supercharger next year? Plug and play :naughty:

Mex, your car may look better, but from the rearview, who can tell?

lol I am envious that you can actually throw a s/c on your car. If I didnt have other priorities I would try to put one in the ride...a kenne bell if it was possible. Those sound bad @ss not to mention max tq starts at 1.5k RPM's. I think the mods on my car may seize to a holt, I have some extra rims I want to throw on and I think that'll be it.

well not exactly like your car here in Atlanta everybody is going to the flat black or the matt black I have also heard it called. your car does not look flat black in the pics but your rims do. I like the flat black look I might paint my bike that color, and just black the entire bike.

Why did you have to say everyone is doing it??? Now I have to paint my car... :gapteeth:

Thanks Seymore4 for link to Uprev.
I found my car and so emailed Uprev from their site.
We'll see what they come up with.
How do you guys include photos in your posts?

Thanks!
Sorry I missed that ...
Please let me know what hp/tq gains I would see for what cost and how/where I would get it done.
(I'm not mechanically inclined ...)
I'm done on outside so ready to consider performance.
Here's what I've done to outside:
20" Luxani Lust with Yokohama 255/40-20s
rear spoiler
dark window film
painted "diffuser" area black and added "Porsche turbo" type (one and a half tips on each side) black exhaust tips
added black stripe below doors with Infiniti logo at the back

Fat3oy. I think your next project should be a sc m45. Start a kick start site for it. I'll donate ;)

I agree! That is something I've been wanting to take a look at. Doesn't seem like it would be too hard for a Vortec/Powerdyne. I played with an M45 Eaton when I had the intake off but there are major clearance issues up top so that is out. Passenger side header is done (was easy). Driver's side still has a lot of work to be done, lots more to fish around on that side of the engine. Exhaust is done (would be easy enough to install an X pipe and/or go true dual), intake porting is done, UpRev is installed and I hope by the end of the year to have the headers finished. Next step: FI.

Picked up some damaged Titan LT headers. Flanges on all the Nissan/Infini V8s are the same. Just reworking them for the M. I do not know how much performance, if any, will be added but you know I had to try! Long process, remove stock header and mess with the new one then re-install stock header to go to work on Monday. Port matching (oval to round) was the easy part.

For estimated performance gains you could just look at what Ken got when he did the same thing Image

No, he used the shorties, I'm using the long tube. Ken's was probably the better set up for a street car but heh, didn't cost me much for the headers and I enjoy doing the fab work.

With the bike, go plasti-dip... it is good stuff, easy for u to DIY and has a matte instead of flat finish

If you were local I'd do all the piping at cost just to make a kit to resell...

You'll see decent performance on long tubes... the shorties are a loss unless F/I... good idea on the titan headers...
