Is it normal for me to want to roll that bastard up in a carpet and throw him off a bridge?

I find it funny that the Brits are slamming Japanese cars. With a few notable exceptions most British cars are a not on par. Lets remember, this guy is use to driving around McLarens, Zondas, Ferraris, Koenigseggs and other exotic cars. Is the 350 zed an exotic car? No. And the car was never meant to be practical.

I'm not a professional car tester so I don't think it'd be my place, or many of yours, to say otherwise or agree with him. BUT, the part about not pushing it when he was on the road where the Def Leppard drummer lost his arm was hilarious. :D

I knew the british were retarded

The only good thing that has ever come from them is the Bentley Con. GT

oh, and Austin Powers.

I wish to beat him 37 times with a baseball bat and then tie him to the back of the 350Z and do the "SLOW 0-60" so he can feel how "slow" it is

****ing british. You ruin everything!

oh yeah btw UR ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD [hehe]

Respect + British = false

Well, I have not driven either car, nor am I a professional driver so I can't really say that he doesn't know what he is talking about, but it seems as though he has a certain distaste for anything that has anything to do with America and he didn't like the Z before he even saw one. Oh well, I'm sure some of those are faults of the Z, but every car has it's shortcommings because you can't have the best of everything. Doesn't matter, as far as I'm concerned and those many people that own and race Z's, they are great cars.

I like the fact that he describes the Z as slow and the RX-8 as fast. Not only does the RX-8 have a significantly lower HP figure, but it has no torque and they have had a lot of problems with reliable HP figures too. I believe it's now rated quite a bit lower than it originally was.

Mazda released a statement saying it's 9hp less than advertised and offered to buy back any RX-8 purchased before the date of their statement.. Still 200+ hp from 1.3 liters and a 9000 rpm redline in a silky smooooth rotary gets me excited ;)

That "pile" just matched the 350Z's lap time with 60 less HP and buckets of less Torque, howabout a little respect? Although I do think he was a bit off mark when he made fun of the Z31...the 84 Special Edition Turbo with the two-tone paint job is one of the nicest looking older cars I've seen irl.

Oh, and I'm English, and there are ignorant pricks from every country that readily bash other countries without much reason, as you guys so readily demonstrated.

As for the "zed" thing, in America, you pronounce "Z" as "zee", everywhere else English is spoken, it's pronounced "zed." Just a frinedly FYI. :D

LOL Ah, the infamous Jeremy Clarkson, he's always been known for his sardonic punchlines. I have to question such a low rating for the Z (3/10?!) but he does have legitimate gripes. Though I think it's a sexy car, not everyone likes the styling of the 350Z. Americans and Europeans have different driving sensibilities. But then again, maybe it's just because he's so jaded from driving so many fine exotics? Anyway the RX8 is sooo damn sexy!

You ever seen the one where he drives a McLaren F1? He says it's the only car that has ever scared him because it's so fast! Damn, I want one.

The Brits are different, i know because I dated a lovely lady from Lancashire for a while... but Brits like the Z. EVO magazine, in worldwide circulation, gave 8th place "car of the year" honors to the Z, behind the likes of Honda NSX, Ferrari 575m, 911c4s, etc.. this was January '03, when the car had <JUST> come to their shores, not yet available for sale to the UK public at the time of the following writings...

To quote their "Car of the Year" article:

"you get more info through the 350Z's gearstick than the whole of the Audi TT"

"What's clear is that there's huge potential for Nissan to develop a class-leader in Europe"

"It's a likeable and well-rounded dynamic package. I'm a fan"

Car magazine also likes the Z alot, i think it finished in the top 10 for their car of the year.

Their car of the year was the Vauxhall VX220 Turbo.

Not the first time they did this, happened with the Miata as well. Actually, the best part is how they "recover" they'll buy the car back at full price, plus any interest paid. Or you can keep it with a small refund, plus free service for the (your) life of the car.

I could have some of the facts wrong, but they are doing alot to make it right with anyone who bought it. And lets keep in mind most people don't buy cars by HP numbers.
