Having 6MT is nice, having a V6 is a must.

Since the high octane gasoline down in my area is the same price as regular unleaded I put the high octane in my 2.5. If I had a 3.5SE I would run only the high octane no matter if the price was the same or higher.

I wanted the v6, but I was trading in my 05 Frontier for better gas mileage while I'm going to school, and I wanted slightly cheaper payments. So I went with the I4, and when I pay it off I'll buy me a real hot rod.

I just went on a trip from NYC to Pittsburgh and back. It was about a round trip of 760 miles or so. I wanted to test my car's consumption considering since buying it and living in Brooklyn I've gotten anywhere between 13 and 17 MPGs in the city.

Well let me tell you, I was very surprised!! Going an average of 55 MPHs over almost 800 miles with 97% of it being on the highway, I had an average MPG of 28.7 on a 3.5SE CVT Coupe.

I think this car loves to go fast in the higher gears, but the stop and go really kills your gas (especailly if you're in a V6). I have to admit, it's quite a big range in consumption between a Highway Road-trip and regular city driving. Now I wish I lived in the boonies

There are certainly situations where the CVT is a far superior choice to the manual.

I guess none of you drive on the D.C. beltway during rush hour.

Unfortunately, I am stuck between a history of poor credit decisions and a wedding coming up in about six months, so I am taking advantage of the new model year coming out and getting a good deal on a 2.5

huhm ...so everyone here get above 20 mpg with 3.5 ? then why I only get like 16 mpg ? My mpg increased with nismo exhaust but it has been decreased since AEM intake was installed lol.

I was in the process of shopping for an 08 altima sedan when my Mom bought herself an 08 coupe 2.5. She went out of town so I borrowed it for the weekend. I loved it and went down to her dealership to find one in slate (she has precision grey). They didn't have one on the lot so the salesman suggested I test drive a 3.5. I said sure what the heck and fell in love with it almost instantly. It might have been impulsive but I have no regrets whatsoever!

For the last month or so that I have owned the car I have had an average of 22 mpg. The highest I had was about 23.3. I just hit 3000 miles....

It's called lead foot syndrome. It is sometimes accompanied by large amounts of local driving.

That's an extremely financially responsible statement you made right there! Its all about what you can do comfortably, not because you're trying to keep up with the Jones', or because someone on a forum said you need a faster car.

Live smart and make wise financial decisions, and the dream cars will come down the road.

I'm sure many of us (including myself) would have loved to get a the 3.5 MT, but there are plenty of reasons to go for the one thats more friendly on the wallet..

but that wasn't the biggest reason i didn't get the 3.5... i test drove the 3.5 MT first, and while on the highway the salesman told me to slow down.. and then i think "why? i'm only going like 65" then i look at the speedometer and i'm doing 85 =X... so what i'm trying to get at is that it is just TOO EASY to go TOO FAST with the V6!!! i already have too many speeding tickets on my record.. gettin the 3.5 would have just made it worse...
