Cross posted this a couple of times now, but I'd figured NICO should have a look as well. :)

From Jalopnik.com...

Custom 240SX Crushed As Memorial To Owner's Death

"According to the man who posted the video:"
Our friend who owned the car passed away.. and No one wanted a punk a** 16yr old to be driving the car around that he finished the way he wanted it before he died.. so instead of it getting picked apart in a junk yard.. crush it...

He was the type of guy who actually threw his last car in a dumpster cause it rattled.. so this fit him perfectly...
UPDATED
"After we ran our story, we heard from the friends of the owner, whom we know only as Tim:"
Tim was a good friend to many, and an ***hole to the rest. He didn't tolerate morons, ricers, idiots. He was a mechanic by trade, loved cats, fishing, and liked driving his car. He was young when he died, and sudden also. And yes it is true, he mentioned many times that he never wanted anyone else to drive his car. So for those of you who don't get it, respect a dead man's wish. Money from friends and car shows were donated to the SPCA in his honor.
Video is on Vimeo HERE: http://vimeo.com/17240262 .

And accordingly, my comment on the whole spectacle...

"I don't know about you, but I woulda thought a car guy would of rather had someone-responsible-enjoy a car rather than to remove it from existence outright. Its hard enough to find a 240SX that hasn't been butchered by a knob that knows nothing of wiring and aesthetics and now there is one less.

Christ, at least part it out or something, keep another 240SX on the road!"

That is exactly what should of happened, and their needs to be a piece of it on his grave. People loved him, and he loved that car, he needs to carry it with him to the next life.

Wow. What a clean s13 too. I definitely wouldn't want my car to be cruched if I died.

"and No one wanted a punk a** 16yr old to be driving the car around"

This is so stupid. If you dont want a 16 yr old driving it around, then don't sell it to one. Sell it to someone you know will take care of it. Better yet, keep it in the fu**ing family. Have is brother or best friend take car of it in honor of him.

Now Im fired up. I cried watching them crush that car and listening to those fa**ots laughing about it

Well to put it in context, supposedly it was what the guy wanted. He didn't want anyone else to have his car, even his relatives. Meh it was his car, and I'm not gonna make any public judgment calls on his character for wanting to keep it all to himself, even in death.

All I know is that the guy is from Florida, dunno who it was so I couldn't tell you if he was a NICO guy or not.

what bothers me is how the people recording this are laughing about it and find it to be more of an entertainment than a memorial... shameful

shiit I hope people laugh at my funeral/memorial, :mike I want people to celebrate my life, not cry and be all pissy. Although I think its weird to want your car crushed when you die, it was his car and his decision.

For starters, the car definately wasnt Han's Mona Lisa or Hans veilside rx-7 as far as not wating anyone else to touch it. I understand about it falling into the wrong hands, and it all makes since, but the problem is it doesnt say whether or not this was his wish, he could be kicking and screaming in his grave. Shud have stayed in the family.

I mean, my car is a peice of crap. But I've put a lot of time and work into it. Blahblahblah cars aren't alive, screw it, my car is my friend. It's rare that I let someone drive my car. So I can kind of see where the dude was coming from. But instead of having it crushed, I would have had it set up on display in a garage or something.

If i died tomorrow.. i'd give my S13 to someone who shares the same feelings about drifting/racing with and but cant afford the expenses of buying and building a car... if he crashed it during drifting then oh well, that must be its fate..

Wow that sucked. Hard to see such a clean s13 get raped. If that was really his wish than so be it. The article stated that the engine was removed and givin to the family. And i would want all my friends laughing thier asses off at my funeral! I wouldn't have it any other way.

Wait. So they took the engine out and gave it to the family? Yet they wouldn't keep the car itself in the family. What are they going to do, cremate the motor or enshrine it? :gotme God forbid a 16 year old gets it and drops it in his baller ride to bang it around and blow it up! :wtf2: This just wreaks of stupid nonsense. I just can't keep from thinking that there's something a bit more sinister lurking in this somewhere down the line.

Motor was pulled and sold, money was given to the family.
