I remember reading somewhere how he ended up selling the vehicle. The new owner ended up doing a RB motor swap and re-did the roll cage, which looks exactly like what your car looks now.

There is a long build thread on this car over on vwvortex somewhere. I don't have the link saved but you should try and find it. Mike did an excellent job during the rebuild and didnt spare any expense. Congrats on the great find!
beat me to it.. i was going to say that car looks REALLY familiar. his build alone inspired me to do what i'm doing (check the sig). i remember he sold it on ebay a couple years back for $15,xxx (i want to say $15,600, i know it was 15 something). so you got a STEAL on that thing especially now that it has an rb26 in it. love that car... don't mess it up or i'll mess you up jk haha but seriously..

enjoy it man

edit: mike's build thread- http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1516760pics don't seem to be working though

Yep you've got it right. I've been trying to get Mike's contact info because I need the paint code he used so I can touch up the interior. I'm painting the new roll cage right now so with white touch up it will look perfect. Anyone here have his info?

NICE!!! $13.6k huh? Is it sad to say that once I add up all the work and parts paid on mine since I've owned it (both for work/parts done by a shop and me, and for the car itself) that I've spent ~$11k on mine...and it still looks like poo. almost always cheaper to buy built than to build yourself. Very nice S13 though.

+10Awesome car. The privious owner spared no expence. Super clean and I am loving the carbon engine pieces.

+1 for the Cadilac. If he can afford one then a Skyline is definitly a possibility where as for me it is just a wet dream...

ALSO get better breaks. If this bad boy sees any serious track time you might need it. Personal preference really. A nice 6Pot up front would do this car justice....Paint the roll cage another color.

I've been on the lookout for a clean build, because it is WAY cheaper to buy a clean build than doing it yourself.

The cage is gold now. I'm waiting for the enamel to cure and then im going to buff and add a clear coat, then buff again.

The guy is a highway patrolman. He rolled up to the station in the 240 and his boss was like wtf are you doing with that thing. it's not road legal haha the rb26 with a straight pipe poops too much emissions

I'm going to upgrade the front brakes to 13.3 inch wilwood with 6 piston calipers.

Thanks for the contact info!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rofl nope. Someone has decided to fraudulently post that ad.

Car's in the shop right now getting a tomei oil baffle installed, power steering seal replacement, and a dyno tune.

No way I'm selling this thing in the next few years... it's too awesome!

That's my car, Goldeneagle. Mike sold it to the owner before me, who then swapped in the rb26 setup.

lip is sitting in my garage. I have no use for it and I dont want to **** up my front bumper by dragging the lip on a speedbump or sharp angle driveway. Ride height, I dunno. car was corner balanced and the suspension was tuned so i'm not going to change anything. I like the current setup.

Car's in the shop right now getting the power steering seals replaced and then it goes on the dyno for a tune at 15psi and 7500rpm fuel cutoff.

Next friday I'm going to have a innovative motorsports wideband sensor and gauge installed, then the tomei oil baffle and oil cooler will go on at the same time.

After that... she's ready for the track.

oh ya i have to add the oil catch pan, too. then I'm at least mechanically sound.
