Do you plan on paiting the flares of keeping them black? It looks good, but I think they would look better color matched (my opinion).

Flares are coming off when I replace the studs and put the spacers on. I need to weld the unibody back together in the rear, as well. They shall be painted white hehe.

Thanks, Mastayu.

Holy Crap I never noticed you were in seattle also! Are you on the NWN forum? What's crazy is that this car after it was built by the original owner was one of my inspirations. My coupe looks very similar to yours and you may have seen it around. I'd definitely like to see it in person one of these days or meet up.

Nope, the only forum I'm on is NICO. I got the tires and flares on, so she is officially done as a street car right now. That means no meets for her.

You can, however, head to the track when I'm there to really see it run hehe.

Where do you usually track at? Pacific Raceways? I've only done 1 event there and usually go to most of the local AutoX events.

Pacific Raceways, Bremerton, and Portland are the three local tracks that I'll be at.

Thanks!

Rgr that, more updates will be coming! Particularly welding up the rear fender unibody areas, 5mm spacers (not to make the wheels and tires flush, but to properly clear the front coilovers), Nismo extended wheel stud installation, new lug nuts, and an APR wing.

From there, it's just basic maintenance with an oil change, rad flush, topping off diff and tranny, alignment and camber adjustment, and then flushing the brakes.

I MAY need some new rear rotors and pads before the next track day, but we'll see...

I would've painted the flares to match the body color.

It doesn't matter 275/255 tire combo is pretty damn nice.

Will you be dialing back the camber at all?

I'm painting them white when I get them off the car again in about a week. More pics then.

Hehe thank you. Yeah, it looks ridiculously mean when you see it in person.

Not sure yet... I'm thinking of running -1.8 to -.2 in the front, and -1.5 to -1.7 in the rear.

I have read that you don't need a ton of camber with these tires because the sidewall is so stiff. We shall see...

You're right. I really should get this thing cleaned up and ready for a legit photo shoot. Once I finish off the flares and get her washed, I'll go for it.

Invest in a pyrometer. Take temps at the track, and look at wear patterns to determine how much camber to run.

Take the temps as soon as possible once you get off track.

A nice pyrometer is my next purchase.

Sadly there is no way to have a universal answer to how much negative camber is needed.

On my 225/50/16s I run -2.5f and -1.5r It feels pretty good.

Yeah, I look for wear patterns to determine camber. Pyrometers are good tools, too, but I don't have a crew chief to meet me in the hot pits to get legit temps.

You're right. Suspensions are tough to dial in, and every new course requires some degree of tweaking to optimize the setup. Camber needs will change based on the tire you're running, too, as different side walls and compounds react differently.

Def. get a pyrometer. It may not be easiest thing to get temps right away, but it's better than nothing.

If you have a chance, I would greatly appreciate a picture showing the clearance between the downpipe and the steering shaft. Thanks.

Epic car.
