I'm new to the forums and I want to start off by saying I did use the search button.. I even tried rephrasing my questions several times and nothing answers my questions.. Basically I have a '96 240sx,stock(other than a 5 lug conversion), automatic.. If I were to convert it to a manual will it run like one that came off the assembly line as a manual? What problems should be expected? Also, do you think it would be best to convert my car to a manual or sell it and get one that's already a manual?

Yes, car will run like it's from the factory. At least mine is like that. :-)
Well, not many serious problems.
If your car is clean and you like it, convert it to manual. Not that hard.

I did it for my 95 S14 and used a S13 transmission and it fitted. Is easy, it took me one day to do the swap with some help. I recommend you to buy the manual computer. Because when I had the auto one it would idle kind of crappy, but ran fine with the auto computer.
Let me know if you have any questions.

I bought manual ECU. but I couldn't tell the difference. Both ran fine, so I kept auto ECU. No problem at all so far.

I have another question guys. I plan on putting a manual ecu on when I convert everything.. What would be the correct manual Ecu? I looked earlier and there are a lot of different types.. and I don't know if my car is odb1 or odb2 lol. Any suggestions as to ecu?

Yours will be a OBD2 most(if not all) became OB2 in 1996. So I'm pretty sure is OBD2. I believe that all the auto started with a 3 or a number and the other ones star with a letter. Like my manual ECU starts with a CA.
