I don't think Genesis Coupe owners are going to 2nd guess their purchase. There's really nothing that compares. Possibly the 370z but it looks like the G Coupe is going to be much bigger hit.

Too bad the R-Spec isn't coming out till later in the year.

You also have to consider that some percentage of the Genesis Coupe buyers will be current/past Hyundai owners who in the past wanted a sports coupe - but couldnt get one from Hyundai.

Still you will have folks including myself - that have never owned or who don't anticipate owning a Hyundai

Either way I think the car will do well. Industry publications confirm the Infiinti as one of the benchmarks for this car and it looks like it has hit or is near its mark. The Hyundai Genesis is to the Infiniti G37 - as the G 37 is to the BMW 3 series. A cheaper version seeking to duplicate the styling, "feel" and or performance of the benchmark.

I just wouldn't want to be on of the early adopters. Even though I did it with the A/C, I had faith in Nissan's reliability.

A general rule that many follow is to not buy the 1st year of a model. 1st year models from any brand often have issues. (however over time the major issues are usually worked out by either the OEM or the aftermarket)

The CVT issues some AC owners are having on this forum could be an example of first year model problem (are the other nissan cvt applications experiencing the same?).

^ I agree.

I would never buy a 1st year of a model due to many issues and not to mention marked up prices from the dealerships

I checked it out at my local dealer. The leather seats were sooo much more comfortable than the A/C. I didn't care for the cloth seats though and the pattern is a little tacky to me since I prefer solid color blocks. Visibility is way better than the A/C. Rear seat space is equivalent. Trunk space is great. Those stock wheels blow ours out of the water for style. I didn't get to test drive since the cars were already spoken for. They had 1 V6 base for a very short time then only 1 2.0Track for a short time. If you are seriously interested in this car you should wait until the end of the model year because you will get raped on price now due to low supply.
