STFU! I was just being devil's advocate. I would love to see the 2.5ers finally get some turbo love.

their goal is to run 285-325whp for the kit on stock motor like it's said quoted above

there is this guy who is the first ever b16 sentra (2007+) specV to go turbo on his 2.5L qr25de and he is pushing 325WHP on 11psi of boost. Cost him 4335$ with install for custom turbo. and he didn't even upgrade the internals of his motor and he is running stock compression. he's been rolling for one year now. no probs

No ones trying to bring anyone down, however, like we do before any product hits the market here in this forum, we need to analyize everything for the public. When the public doesn't know and understand, thats when the guys with experience need to step up and offer insight before people are trapped in a situation that they drop $5g+ in.

Now, onto the topic. I have yet to see any evidence on the 325WHP, but lets say that were true. Lets says this 11psi kit put you in reach of 360hp. I want to see this kit on the altima coupe first. I don't see 11psi running well for long. Thats a good amount to push through the QR. Regardless of block sleeve strengthening, the QR isn't an award winning or strong motor. I hope for the best, but I see rod throwing in the future.

The SAFCII isn't a great tunning computer. Average at best. Its been the better part of a decade since that was created, I had that on my eclipse 6 years ago. They should look at upgrading that.

Well now.It looks like I don't have to do this on my own anymore.Forget my older threads everyone. This thread is much more interesting.

here's his build thread http://myspecv.net/f/view_topic.php?id=13610&p=9 check out at post number 206.

also the whole thread has been cleaned of useless posts by a mod so it's mostly the guy's reply that we see for easier reading.

and yeah I want to see this kit on an altima coupe first too before I tell everyone to jump on it. thats why I'm making this thread so someone can go prototype. but its reassuring to see the work that these guys can do at Forced Induction Racing.

hey whats the difference between the SE-R and the SE-R spec V? besides one being CVT and the other 6mt... the SE-R is putting out about the same as the 2.5s AC. maybe someone could do what ever is done to the Spec V to there 2.5s and get an extra 25-30 HP.

I forgot that the SE-R was cvt! that means they are making a kit that could work with the cvt guys too!!

differences are cams composite intake manifold(whatever that means) a compression of 9:5:1 vs 9:0:1 this is i think the first thing us 2.5ers should try to do get it to spec v standards an then start messing with it oh the cam shaft is balanced so there are no counter balance shafts

The Spec-V doesn't have balance shafts? Are you sure about that? Not that it matters, really, as I'd like to see if the JWT balance shaft removal kit works for our cars anyway...

The QR25DE is a 2.5 L (2488 cc) variant built in Decherd, TN with cast steel connecting rods, a steel timing chain, counter-rotating balance-shafts, and an aluminum intake manifold. The engine bore is 89 mm with a stroke of 100 mm and a compression ratio of 9.0:1. Output is rated 175 hp (130 kW) at 6000 rpm with 180 ft·lbf (244 N·m) of torque at 4000 rpm in the Altima 2.5 and Sentra SE-R models. Altimas that are PZEV compliant create and of torque. In the 2005+ Nissan Frontier the QR25DE generates and of torque. More recently, in the Nissan SE-R Spec V 2007+ the QR25DE generates @ 6600 rpm and of torque @ 5200 rpm with a 7000 rpm redline. The crankshaft comes fully balanced allowing removal of the counter-shafts built into the older style QR25. The newer version is also equipped with a composite intake manifold and compression has been bumped up to 9.5:1 this is where i got all my info from reference.com

so its just the balancing shaft and not actual cams? and how do you change the compression ratio (if possible)?

oh.... sounds like a lot of work. one thing ive noticed with some VQ's getting more HP for different models is that they'll say a different intake manifold and they said the SE-R had a better intake manifold too. this is something we need to get, a performance intake manifold

kinetex is a company that makes intake manifolds. its a small company in SoCal and they made intake manifolds for the older altimas and theres a chance it might fit on the new altimas and coupes (3.5 only though). i dont think it is CARB legal though... i would like to see a CARB legal one
