V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

Wait are you running your Temp sensor from Toyota Or Nissan...I use Nissan on mines becuase the Nissan cluster reads it wrong making cluster read hotter than it really is. You keep your toyota sensor to feed the ECU but you run a separate Nissan to feed your cluster. Other then that I can't think of anything else that could be the problem.
if im not mistaken i think im using a z32 300zx temp sensor. it SHOULD be reading right. i mean it doesnt go over the half way mark at all. then again i did purposely make it overheat to check if the temp gauge was reading right (just flipped on the a/c switch) .. and within a minute or two... the coolant started boiling over in the overflow tank but the gauge itself didnt move. probably just going to get an external water temp gauge. to double check. and i cant think of anything else either!!

I have not finish that car yet. Still needs the engine parts Powder coated and Recaro Interior will be going in soon. Car makes Approx 420RWHP, dyno sheet will be up in a few weeks. Shoot me a PM and make an offer if you are interested.

im really suprised that no one else is really doing this swap. I done a lil research and its been proven that the 1jz on the stock twins,550 with more boost can make upwards of 400+ whp.

Then there are maybe a handfull of 1jz's making 700 on the stock bottom with maybe a 2jz cam.

Check out some of the supra sites. This engine has wayyyyyy more potential than the RB's. Even the RB26 in my opinion. They run MAP sensors and you can swap out the bottom with the almight 2j. No MAF sensors also.

I second that! I think it's just that most people jump on the wagon and go with the SRs or RBs and don't want to go outside of Nissan. The 1j is just over shadowed by it's big bro the 2j, but from what I've seen, the 1j is the better choice if your not looking to do 700+ hp.

Well i have been looking for a swap to do that is reliable in stock form up to 350 whp and it looks like the 1jz meets that goal and some with the right parts. My question is how much would the swap cost overall. I know the swap kit is $1500, motor $2100-$2900, wiring $450, and I have no idea how much a custom downpipe would cost. I would like to think of myself being mechanically inclined so I plan on doing the swap myself with the help of friends of course .

Also from my understanding the 1jz can do 300 on stock injectors and ecu am I correct in thinking that.

How hard is it to find a chaser/soarer motorset or clip since they have the front sump and extended shifter (correct) .

I plan on leaving the stock twins on for a while is that a good idea if I want a constant 300-350whp.

Could you also tell me what kind of maintenance you did while the motor was out of the car that should calculated in with cost also.

Thats all for know but I have many other questions. Thanks for any help and input.

hinds90 email me any questions you might have about a 1jz swap. Im in the process of doing a 1j in my coupe so i should be able to help you out. I would definitely consider going single turbo upgrade. A nice gt35 would do wonders. there is a member on here that does top mount manifolds (drewgo)

MAP Ecu +550cc injectors +gt35 +various odds and ends=

400 whp on 12psi no prob.

now add camstitanium head gutsand 20psi............oh god
