Putting a 1jz-gte engine in a 240sx.What does everyone think about this new engine swap in a 240sx? Personally it seems strange because it is a toyota engine.Putting a 1jz-gte in a 240SX.

I've seen a 2JZ-GTE done. The guys said because it was stronger than their previous RB26. Morons.

the 1jz isn't that expensive either

I give props to hybrid swaps, the 1j is one that doesnt have much of a following yet but neither did the RB25 back in the day.

Keep to one make of car. Its just kinda trash wholish to be switching a beautiful peice of machinary (RB series engine). For Toyota's reply to the very same engine. Stay with the Nissan. It may be fast but you're still stupid

My boy and I built a 1j in a mk3 supra... Runs strong and the 2 extra cylinders do help down low. he's running low boost since it was just built. I hope to put the hurt on his cow when I finally get my car running.

i think my 2jz with the 6spd is prolly faster than the rb26. she def gets out of her own way. it also matters what year 26 ur talking. but either engine would be a great choice for a swap both are quite unique

Sorry fella's who ever is dissing the 2j or 1j, consider that the supra and skyline weight near the same and that the skyline has awd, but why is the supra faster?

E$xactly.

sorry guys, some times truth hurts.

I say go for it, 1jz is a good motor and indeed is much cheaper than any series rb. Once you get the mounts right, make me a pair while you at it.

Wow.

Don't assume anything about me if you don't know me. I have a job to earn my money and do everything myself.

Reason why i'm not happy with my rb is because of the people I've delt with buying the motor. not happy. Had to buy a second rb to make it work. After 5 months of unresolved conflicts with a member of this forum it came down to me being scammed out of $1900 and a ka24e.

"E$xactly" isn't a reason... I know a N/A auto mk4 supra runs a 16.2 in the 1/4... Thats not faster than a skyline...

Btw: I know you're not talking about a N/A auto supra...

From what I've seen just now with alittle abit of searching:

Stock Supra: twin turbo 6spd

1/4 mile: 14.0 average

Stock Skyline GTR

1/4 mile: 14.0 average

If I recall the stock american supra has about 44 more hp than the skyline gtr...

Skyline: 276 bhpSupra: 320 bhp

Also, when it comes to handling, the skyline wins, no contest, 1/4 times don't mean ****...

Draw your own conclusions...

(Disclaimer: I'm not bias at all, just ask anyone that knows me, I love supras...)

Thats ****ed up, but still if you only payed 1900$ (not to diss you) but maybe you got your moneys worth....

Considering what I got for a Rb20det yes it was a bad deal.

This is exactly what I can use out of the the first purchase along side with giving him $2050 + a month old rebuilt ka24e motor.

TrannyBlock,pistons,rods,oilpanharness, ecu

What he sold that was broken:MAFSCAS (broken)head

What he stole:my downpipebatteryboost gauge and holderClutch$150

Now he ignores me and won't give my parts or money so thats why I've had it with the rb kinda

IMO, the swap id dumb, i would stick with an RB, keep it in the family and get a Nissan motor. And as far as i know, but i could be wrong, RB26Dett can get mroe power than a 1jz possibly a 2jz? I'm talking about to the point when you have 1k+hp as in drag cars and company cars.

mmmmmmm.........

Toyota Supra Turbo 0.94 g

nissan skyline gtr spec v .89 g

also the 277 hp rating is believed to be more like 320 hp, however

1/4 mile for spec v was 13.7 and 13.5 for the supra, ironically it's about that close in the fully modified outlaw drag cars too.

Both beautiful cars man, I would proudly take either of them.
