Do they look identical in size and shape to you? Or are you just looking to cram them in,fit be damned?

if you want angel eyes then just custom make rings....

Also, BMW headlight shave been done on g50's but it doesn't look that good since the hood doesn't line up.

Ive thought about this and no one's tried it. Itd be interesting to get ahold of a J light, throw it in and see what it looks like.. If its close, it could be nice.

LMAO. I had visual of someone squeezing the J lights in and denying the aesthetic defects.

Now don't get technical!

It would be easier to get a BMW.

I do want to get technical because I want to see if the headlights will fit o my 91 i need a honest opinion not some one who says they wont fit because there different models.

If I install the j30 headlight and side lamp together would i have to cut into the fender of my 91 q45? and is that safe or easy to do?

Have you Googled it? Or heard of it being done?

Personally, I wouldn't do it. I see the similarity to the "Angel-Eye" look, albeit a small one. But will the effort required make it a success be worth it?

J30 Lamp:

Q45 Lamp:

*See Anlasak's Black Q* - zerothread/151212

The J30 lamps look to be shorter than the Q45 lamps.

I don't really see how it would work without some "Above-Average" elbow grease.

it will not workwell at all. i tried it when i was considering bmw or j30 projectors. the headlight assembly is 2.5 " smaller than the Q lights. i borrowed one from a junk yard not to far from my work. much more work than putting in the bmw ones. which i just started working on again!

thats what you mean by difference I can hardly notice it and it was kinda hard to find unless i really looked.

But I honestly think that that is not a j20 headlight because I don't see the two projectors.

If this is not the right picture can you please show me the right one.

Well the picture that i posted of that kids q45 looks like it has two different types of lights because one was smaller than the other.

The q45 headlight is bigger than the j30 headlight don't you see and thats why i thought the j30 headlight was a j30 headlight.

Pretty sure it's the angle of the pic. It's nigh impossible to "Frankenstein" a Q and have one J30 lamp and one OEM Q45 lamp. Does not compute.

Plus, the J30 has the double projector setup. I'm sure that the wiring is quite different. Can you imagine the complexities of running J30 headlamp wiring and Q45 lamp wiring simultaneously? Boggles the mind, really.

It's just not meant to be. If you're looking for a "different" look for the headlamps, lasoyafan's E39 Angel Eyes are quite nice. They took some work though. Are you willing to put that sort of work in? Have you considered JDM lamps? Minor mods are necessary IIRC, and the beams have to be recalibrated to USDM standards or you'll run the risk of blinding the oncoming traffic.

so you saying if i was to install the headlamp and use the same q45 bulbs the bulbs would not fit on the projectors lights because the projectors call for different bulbs than the q45's halogen bulbs?

The J30 should use the same bulbs if there are 4 total. Should be 9006/9005 (low/high). Wiring would be no different.

Hey someone dug up my old pics of nari

Those are both the stock Q45 headlamps.

J30 lamps aren't tall enough or wide enough to fill in the spot where the oem Q45 lamps sit.

I know. I tried the idea.J30 lamps are still sitting in the garage.Sorry.
