Hi everyone, been looking for a replacement bushing for my 1991 Infiniti Q45, I've been purchasing different bushings sizes and they are all small in diameter for fitment inside the housing of the tension rod. What I want to know is there a size variation amongst the years and models through 1990-96 of the Q45? Are there any compatible oem tension rods from other Nissan or Infiniti models that are compatible and can support the weight of the Q45 that are known to work? Also are the bushings for the non active suspension models smaller in diameter oppose to the active suspension. Thank you for your time.

Here are a couple of threads on bushings. At some point I've purchased both bushings and complete rods. If you want me to look through the old invoices for part numbers, I can do that. Amayama appears to have at least one style of OEM bushings, so that may be the way to go.

I'm having trouble finding the bigger bushings for replacement, they seem to be smaller in diameter. Can I use tension rods from a 240sx s13? They use the same part number for the bushing.

Have 2 of them myself. Also have 1 new tension rod with bushing in it. Need a press to press them in. Bushings are OEM 40 from amayama plus shipping. So about 80 bucks to your door. Tension rods with bushing need to be bought in pairs from amayama. I think they were 105 each so 210 plus 50 shipping or so. Pick your poison

I tried ordering the bushings from amayama a few months ago and they canceled my order. Will the 240sx s13 oem tension rods work with a 1991 Q45?

Not sure about that. They don't cross referenc the part number. Amayama lists 3 different sources for these. Also ebay comes up with these available with the part number. Not sure if it's legit though

Ok thank you for your reply. Have you ever ordered the bushings with the part #54476-35F20? Just wanted to know the diameter of the original bushing for that part number? Do the larger diameter bushing tension rods only come as a whole part?

That's the part number that I ordered back on 2/14/2003 for mine. Good grief, that's 20 years ago.

I can't see both sides of the bushing with the car on the ground, but I could get a caliper on the outside of the circular bushing housing portion of the tension rod. It measures about 77mm. I think the actual bushings are about 62mm, but that's kind of a guess based on the big socket that I used as a drift when I pressed them in last time, and trying to measure them by feel on one side.

I sourced those bushings last year - they're out of production but I found them both on eBay from different sellers. The Moog part number is K200974 - funny enough one of the bushings is a repackaged Nissan bushing still in it's original bag. A Google search for either number should turn up somewhere that you can purchase them.

The outer diameter is 2.535", which converts to 64.4mm.
