then you should also know the GTS name was continued with the AE101 and AE111. however, i have never seen an SR5 or FX-16 called a GTS. those are two totally different corollas. the only thing the SR5 shares with the GTS is the body. and the FX-16 is an odd EF civic looking car thats FWD.

We have an old '79 SR-5 1.8L that we toss around here for kicks and i believe that it's the precursor to the 8-6 corolla, it looks pretty much like it.

Its real tossable and it was free, so we drive it like it was free, sideways and often. It only has like 75hp stock, but for some reason its not hard to drift or do donuts in it. I give it 6 stars for WTF?!?ness...

I had a Gt-s Hatch(87) SLOW AS PISS. ....But I dont see why everyone thinks they are so cool IMO I think the hatchs are slow and ugly. Wouldn't mind getting a coupe though(for looks only not very much performance difference other then chassis rigidy)..

I thought Toyota only imported coupes in 87?

ya i didnt remember seeing sr5's that late i dont follow those ff crappy models and the fx 16 was called gts not sure if all models where but i know some where look here just typed in fx-16 on ebay http://cgi.msn.ebay.com/ebaymo...=WDVW it even has the badges. i never said anything about sr5's being called gts's. i may not know a whole lot about the newer ff versions but i know plenty about my own gen.

they had coupes here ever since they had hatches they where brought here in late 84 for the 85 year
