I would get one, but the pricing on them is too high right now 10 years ago you could most likely get them cheaper for what you can get now, one of the few cars that gained value.

In my opinion it has become way overpriced for what you get. I see ae86's listed for $3000, thats rediculous. I still want one, but it needs to be alot more cheap concidering all the work that ususally needs to be done to them.

true. but either car stock isnt fast :P. but i have to say that the ae86 was damn fun.

i bought my old ae86 for 50 bucks and sold it for 2k. hehe

Can i add Stock AE86 owns all because of weight balance and its an old 86 corolla here in states. Now from what i know that ive driven one u dont need speed or brakes for the back end to float around on u. It goes on its own. Its a great balance car and the point of that series is to show u doesnt matter about power or who u think u are. Its about how u know ur car. Alot of ppl get breaks by thinking i have a more powerful car thats not always the reason u win.

not on a downhill touge becuase you can only go so fast downhill.....

a V8 corvette will own that corolla on the track so fast stock vs stock. So power does get you in some events

Well u see what im saying im not meaning that i give u a stock 240 and i take blitz's skyline on a drag strip. Im talking about it takes a driver who knows his/her car to win. U acnt just go get in a car and win some race when u dont know its limits.

I had a '80 corrolla liftback years ago and loved it. It was slow, but fun, tossable, well built, and amazingly reliable. But while the 86 corrolla and and 240sx are similar in that they're both slow but tossable/reliable RWD's, the huge difference is that the corrolla is looks challenged.... Add on some cheapie ricey nonsense like wings and body kits and it's full blown fugly. At least the 240 has an attractive shape. Just my humble $.02

hell, a midget or triumph will take a corolla in a road course, and it doesnt have to be up or down hill.

calling an 85-87 corolla an ae86 is necessary they didnt stop the corolla gts at 87 and sr5 corollas started way b4 ae86's was ever around. ae92's continued with the gts name.fx-16 are called gts too. so it makes alot of since to use ae86. to most of the guys on here corolla gts may be only seen as ae86 but to toyota enthusiests it can mean much more.
