I started putting my alternator on today, as some of the others had to do, I had to grind down the smaller spacer to have it fit the space. I also ordered the bolt kit that Robbie suggested earlier, only it seems almost too long. Pushed all the way through the bolt is touching that hump on the block just above the oil pan, and still has a 1/4 of inch left of bolt showing. Now a question to Robbie, did you have any issues with that and how did you go about getting that nut on the back of the rear mounting arm? Thanks Juan for the bracket kit, and thanks to anyone else that helps out.

I also had to have the smaller spacer lathed down to fit properly. The bolt I got was too long as well so I carefully grinded down the bolt until it didnt hit the block anymore. But one weird Issue I had was that the upper bracket was alittle too long as well. I had to shave that down as well. Maybe I installed it wrong, but, I don't think there was any other way to install it.

hey bro, i actually did not have a problem with the bolt hitting that hump. i ended up not even using the rear spacer and just put some washers in it's place to take up the gap. i think i even ended putting a washer in with the front spacer so that i was able to fit a nut on the back. i BARELY fit the nut in there and had to just turn it a little at a time. it'll be a pain if/when i have to change it now that i have the manifold back on. i also ended up having to use an extra washer or two on the top bracket (due to moving the alti forward just a little.) but no biggy. everything tensioned down nicely and is nice and tight. i'll get some pics when i get back in town this weekend.

Hey there, I got your payment, I have one last kit left for now. However one of our fellow Canadian members shipment seems to have been lost in the mail as he has not received his alternator kit so I have to wait for him to see if he gets it if now i will have to re ship him another one which is the last one i have in stock. if that happens I will email you and let you know. I can either Refund your money, or you can hang tight untill im done doing all the modifications to the new kit for better fitment, (i will be taking all the information i can get from the guys that already bought the kit and making it better)

Simple, lots of folks have more money than time. His asking price is very reasonable, and eliminates the hassle.

Great threadcrap.

MOTT, who p!ssed in your Corn Flakes this morning? Seriously, what did Bardabe do to you? He is making something "aftermarket" to adapt a part to an engine that was not made for it to begin with.

You buy an SSAutochrome Exhaust manifold and need to drill out the holes, so what. You buy a mount kit and it doesn't line up EXACTLY and needs to be tweaked, so what. You buy an exhaust system and it slightly touches the bumper and needs modified, so what? These are aftermarket "swap" parts for "swapped engine RB's" in 240sx's.

Get over it. He has helped many people put on a larger alternator that was well needed on our RBs. A little filing or sanding of a small piece to his kit is no big deal and EASILY fixed. We don't need a "fourth" party opinion from someone who did not buy a kit directly from him and had issues. So move on and leave him alone.........

Hey guys, thanks for being patient, Next week I will have the RB25 car back, so I will re take the measurements on the 2nd spacer (the small one) and take the upper brakets back to my machine shop. aparently they cut them with a +/- 1/16" tolerance which is not within the specs I told the guy. and the rear small spacer needs some size re adjustment. any input you guys have please email me [email protected] so I can correct it also thinking about making the kit full aluminum instead of Steel and Aluminum. what do you guys think? we wont have any need to ever worry about rust. however we will have to worry about the torque we put on the alternator unless we use a Bolt and Nut. opinions?

Why do you guys take s***s in good threads such as this one, but when some retard posts "I WANT A SKYLINE MOTOR" you all ignore it.

I meant no harm in my first post. My intention was not to bad mouth anyone. I have been dealing with someone in my family that is very close to me battling cancer and after watching my father figure die from it i have been a completely different person. After receiving some of the comments towards me it pushed me over the edge. I apologize for that and that is why i deleted my other post.

I dont know if i would make it all aluminum or not because the people that dont have much wrench time like to over torque things. If they over torque the bolt that threads into your bracket and pull the threads out most will blame your product and not their error installing it. just a thought

The 125 amp quest alternator almost bolts right up to the RB20..

Slight mod needed on the existing bracket... drill a hole...

installed my bracket a few weeks ago but wanted to say that it worked out great and my car has absolutly no electrical hangups at all. I was actually able to use my stock spacer with the setup. Not sure if anyone else has had that type of luck but very satisfied customer here!

Thanks again.

Hey guys sorry for the Huge delay, I just got back into the shop and boy are things backed up. I apologize for all the inconvenience. I will have a car here by the end of next week to make the version 2 of the kit. this time i will include a bolt with it so there will be no sourcing of anything. in a much more efficient way to do things. I cannot stress enough how sorry i am for being gone for so long hope you guys understand it was a life changing event that happened in my life but it is what it is. back to focusing on life right guys?

anyway Let's get this design thread going I'll kick up some pictures as soon as I get the test car here. the kit will be Full Aluminum cut on a Cold Saw and Tig Welded. Deburred and since it's aluminum no paint to ruin the nice finish of my material of choice (T6-6061 Aluminim) it will be drilled and tapped and thinking of supplying machine head bolts (allens) instead of regular hex head bolts. what do you guys think?
