Hey guys just letting you guys know I'm working on the new version. allo of changes are being made, and working on including all hardware with the kit. I apologize for the long delay, had lots of things go sour in the past few months.... including a month long trip to mexico due to family health problems and loss of a loved one. on the bright side of things. the new kit will be full aluminum. and full write up before release. and will go big. (pay the advertizer fee's full write up and some reviews)

Ill post again just so everyone knows...
the 125 amp quest alternator bolts straight up .. same mods needed as the ka alternator (drill mounting holes larger, then it fits perfectly and mount the bracket 1 hole down)

All you have to do is drill out the alt to fit the RB bottom bolt, then put the tensioner in a different spot.

I don't remember what I did exactly as that was last year, but I just put my quest alt on with what I had on the motor already. I drove and tracked it for 3K miles no issues. I also put the same alt on my KA and I had to reslot the factory bracket.

I don't know why you guys are having so many issues, Its really simple.

Rustspec did your alternator pulley line up with the pulley on the water pump? What year alt. are you running?

Yeah it lined up just fine. I always beat the crap out of it and it never threw a belt.

Its the 125A alt from advance. I think its the later year quest alt, I dont remember exactly. I should look it up in case it goes bad though....

Yeah, you do not need this kit... its the 125 amp quest alternator, just make the holes larger on the bottom and the stock rb20 spacer fits in perfectly. Pulley lines up perfectly. move the tension arm down to the bottom hole that is used for stock rb20 alternator and use only 1 hole.. ill take pics tomorrow!

^^how about you quit being an absolute douche bag and start your own thread instead of trashing this guys?

especially when you're telling people the ghetto a** way to do it. one bolt hole to hold the tension of the alternator on there? it may work for now....but i promise you it will cause you pain in the long run. that's just too much pressure to rely on one bolt. there's a saying when it comes to cars....mod cheap, mod twice or spend ALOT to fix your f*** up later.

the best part is this kit costs next to nothing and get's the job done correctly.

Did the OP get prior approval to sell these on here? If not, then this thread shouldn't even exist.

SWEET good thing my setup isn't ghetto. I have two bolts holding the bracket in.

Don't be sore if there's more then one way to do something. You prefer your way, and I had to do it my way. Being that my rb20 s13 was my daily driver at the time and I had to get it done and driving. It would have been impossible to wait for this guy to finish his kit and send me one. OH yeah, and were these even being made last spring when I needed one? I don't think so but it doesn't matter.

Any way I'm not attacking any one, just saying there are other options. So check your attitude at the door.... :inout:

Got the alternator fitted up and tested tonight.

At full load with the twin electric fans on, and my bright lights on, the battery is still charging at 14.4V

Previously the battery was charging at 12.6 or so

Getting the alt mounted up wasnt bad at all. I removed the pulley from the new one and swapped my old one. The spacing for the lower mount was perfect. I drilled out the mount holes to accept the larger bolt, and found a 300ZX alternator bolt is actually about 1/2" longer than the RB, and it worked perfectly. All I need to do now is figure out a tensioner setup.

Clearly this is an example of why we don't often allow group-buys on NICO. This one didn't exactly slip through the cracks, more like, we overlooked it because it was such a small $ amount that we figured it wouldn't put anyone in a bad spot if they did lose the money...

Having said that... It's time to pay the piper! Barbade.. you better make this right. Refund every single person who has paid and not received what they asked for. No more excuses, we all have family lives and they all get in the way. It shouldn't take more than a few minutes to issue refunds to those who deserve them. Get it done!

Anyone who has paid the man and not received a refund or the items they paid for, please post a reply so that we can make a list and push for things to be made right.
