37522 is a carrier bearing, and it's supposed to absorb vibration and noise as far as I know. If you try to turn 37522, you can tell there's some cushion kinda thing inside. I think most noise is coming from u-joints on both ends on aluminum shaft. I don't know how to explain it, but I suspect that their angle is larger than OEM driveshaft, maybe???Soravia wrote:why is the shaft noisy?
i like the replaceable u-joints. dont think you can replace the stock ones94_240sx wrote:

No, s13 stock dust shield is too small, so you can't mate it up with an aluminum shaft. You will have to remove dust cover. I used s14 dust shield to fabricate one. It's going to be hard to fabricate s13 dust cover. My recommendation is remove the dust cover or find s14 dust cover and fabricate like I did.2.4Loflove wrote:On shaftmaster's website it says no mods necessary, so there is no way to get that dust shield to mate up with the new shaft? Cuz he balaces his? I had talked to him before I bought mine from Shaftmaster. David said he would definitely exchange it if there's any vibration issue.Ajax wrote:Has anyone encountered a vibration/noise under full vaccuum in 4th gear (between 2000 and 3000 rpm)?I've got an ebay shaft and its annoying as hell. I've been emailing with David at SM and he hasn't had any complaints of that nature.
That's enough for meBMAR240SX wrote:What is the major feel in the driveshaft i am thinking about getting out, but i am curious on what are the benefits?

Any other benefits?
I don't think anyone offers one for the aftermarket 1 piece driveshaft. OEM dust cover won't fit like you said. You have to fabricate just like I did. s14 dust cover is easier to fabricate than s13's.sjbsuperman1425 wrote:ok this is a LITTLE off topic, and im bringing back an old thread, but where can i get a dust cover for the driveshaft? I dont have one on my car right now because it wouldn't fit with the driveshaft. (non abs car w/ abs driveshaft...it works but eBay screwed me that time)..
i'll probably get flamed for this but, its probably a pretty important thing to have right?
NOPE RIGHT THREAD LOL
I would say it depends on where you live. It prevents dust, so if it gets bad, you can simply drop the driveshaft and replace rear seal on the transmission. It's not that big of deal to replace it. It's not 100% required, but it's better to have.sjbsuperman1425 wrote:but running without = HUGE no no correct?
