A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

There is no chip available. You could do a piggyback computer (Apex-i SAFCII, for instance) and use a wideband O2 sensor to get a pony or two, but it's not really worth it.

CAI - cold air intakeQG - short for QG18DE, Nissan's code for your engine

I've forgotten, have you checked for the fuel pump and/or ECU recalls? The startup issues could be related to that. If you're clear, get your alternator and battery tested (Autozone will often do this for free). Also clean the battery terminals with a wire brush - take off the leads first!

A bit of Google hunting tells me that Ross has some QG pistons. ~$400-500 depending on design.

never gonna happen, not enough market.i know that there was a dude on the b15 board that was trying to a cam group buy going for the QG (he had a turbo QG) and JWT wanted 20 guaranteed buys before they developed them and i think he only got like 4 or 5. so that plan fell apart.

say if they did make the cams, how much would they be? people wouldn't buy them if they were more than people could afford. money is tight for me but if i had the cash i'd jump all over a new set of cams. i would be first in line. for sure

JWTs SR cams run about $550 + shipping, so I'd expect QG cams to be similarly priced.

Like VMPhil said, the GB on them fell apart, so JWT took that as lack of interest. No other company has ever done much as far as serious mods (except turbo) in the Sentra community, so I doubt there'll ever be a QG cam upgrade unless you do a stock came regrind.

Yeah thats what I heard. Oh well. I'll just stick to basic bolt-ons.

speakin of turbo, what kind of turbo would be the best for a gxe? i've been lookin around and found a gt28r turbo. it wll work with qg18de. i know that if you start forced induction its good to beef up the pistons and rods. but if the turbo is set at 7 psi would i have to worry a/b it? i think the car could handle it but its better to have an opinion(s) as a background to look upon. thanks for any input.

Why would you bother with a T28 if you're only going to run 7lbs? T25 is the way to go. T28 if you're going to venture past 12lbs.

The only turbo QG I've heard much about recently bumped up to 10lbs on stock internals, no problems thus far.

i don't wanna push my luck. 7psi is good enough for me. the rest will be bolt on like custom exhaust and whatnot. how much does the t25 cost compared to the t28?

Any aftermarket retailer will have injectors, it's just a matter of knowing what type of rail, connectors, and resistance you need.

Check out our advertisers, several of them offer injectors: http://www.nicoclub.com/addirectory.shtml

just out of curiousity (a/b the qg cams), was jtw just focused on the for sure buyers from this particular forum or were they checkin out other spots too. i'm sure there would be plenty of for sure buyers. just maybe they didn't get word on the whole issue. could be possible....

Yeah, they honestly searched for enough people. and even the addition of the interest here on NICO wouldn't have put it over the edge.

thats crazy. JWT only needed 20 guaranteed buys right? and out of 65,000 thousand members with nico alone and other big places they couldn't get 20 guaranteed buys? and i'm sure that not every nico member drives a qg but nonetheless. i'm sure threre could have been complications but thats just insane. like super crazy.

Given their R&D costs, those 20 buyers would have had an awful price to deal with.

R&D? whats that? i apologize but i can be computer illiterate at some times depending on how much i've had to drink. it took me 5 minutes to figure out ROTFLMAO. stone sober at that. but whatever it is it doesn't sound to great.

besides that, also the fact that there are a lot of 1.8 owners that complain there is nothing available, but wouldn't shell the money out for these anyway (not saying it's anyone here).

^ Also true.

Think about it: SR cams run $550ish just for the parts. These QG cams would be even more expensive, so even a 1.8 owner who wasn't on a budget (of which their are few, though that can be said for most sport compact owners on the whole) would have a hard time justifying the purchase.

correctamundo. im sure there were more people interested but they needed people to commit with cash in hand. at that time not enough people wanted to pony up. hell id like to buy some cams for my spec but my money is required else where these days..

See if I was dead set on making the Sentra decently fast I'd get the cams if they made them, but then you come to realize it's nice with bolt ons for a daily.

that would have been great if those 20 people were rich and wiped their *** with benjamins. but then again they wouldn't be driving a qg if they had that much money.
