So the subie went in today for a tune. Originally I had only planned on getting a pro tune on the dyno and calling it a day. My wonderful wife called me this morning on my drive to Portland and told me to go ahead and get a downpipe also.

So I bought a Cobb Accessport and a Cobb catted downpipe. Also added a K&N drop in air filter.

My baseline run without anything (bone stock with muffler delete pipes) was 230 HP and 238 lb/ft torque.

After the downpipe, air filter and Tim's tune, I am very safely putting down 294 HP and 305 lb/ft torque.

He had the boost up higher and was running a little leaner and made over 305 HP and 320 TQ. After discussing the situation, his advice for me since it is a daily driver, was to take the boost back down to 17.5 psi and richen up the fuel some. That will keep her running much safer and not have to worry about any issues.

So my question is, if I ran a 13.55 in the 1/4 mile in a 230 HP car, what will she do in the 1/4 mile now?

For those that are curious, it was a Mustang AWD dyno and the all the tuning was done with an Accessport. Tim took a base map that he created and modified it a lot until it gave us good numbers in a safe area. All total he did between 30 and 40 runs on the dyno to dial it in.

Congrats Bean0r!

My friend's 02 WRX put down 300 to the wheels, and that thing is an absolute BEAST.

I think you should be able to bust into the 12s with the current setup.

This is Win.

230 is what the Zee puts down on a mustang, I just wish it was that easy to jump another 60.

Yeah Logan, it will be a blast as a DD.

I also forgot to mention, my gas mileage is almost 10% better and I have been driving the same.

James, at 294, and 305, she will put you back in the seat, that is for sure. Dunno if I would call her a beast, since a few friends of mine have some crazy HP Subies, but I sure am happy. I hope she will get into the 12's, that would be awesome.

Sorry Soup. That is why I traded in the G35 on the Subie. Potential for power is greater. For what I spent on an intake and exhaust for the G35, I had the downpipe, accessport and protune done.

Well, I would, but... I made a promise that I wouldn't mod this car until the warranty expires or it is paid off... She let me out of that agreement.

Today when she called and said to get the downpipe, she made it crystal clear that there will be no more mods on this car, until it is paid off. There is no arguing this point. There is no Christmas presents or anything else. She said she is not to hear the words "Mod" and "car" in the same sentance coming out of my mouth, unless I am talking about a friend's car.

I can deal with that. Hell I am putting down some damn fine numbers, and will really enjoy everything.

The only downside is that she is a tad bit on the loud side, since she is running one high flow cat, a resonator and straight pipes.

I am not sure what she will think in the morning when I start it up, and for the first 10 seconds when cold, it will run the timing at 10º after TDC. This keeps the exhaust valves open when the fuel is combusting to heat up the catalitic conveter quickly. After 10 seconds, timing advances back to where Tim set it, and she quiets down, but is still a tad bit loud.

Damn those Toyotas respond well to tuning!

No seriously, killer numbers. I need to get my little 2.0 tuned and see what she'll do.

Well, I should say 1st and 2nd are "beastly"... even 3rd is pretty good... aren't the 02's lighter?

His turbo timer can measure 0-60 times... we pulled 3.8 seconds to 60 a few times... and he babies his transmission. Anything that will get you to 60 in under 4 seconds is classified as "a beast" in my book.

I'm very impressed. That is one hell of a fun car now to drive.

How much to just "add" nitrous now? Its not really "modding it" since you are adding something and not changing it, right?

I guess it would be about a grand, but nitrous on a boosted engine is something I don't know a lot about. I know it can have some really bad side effects, really easily.

Meth would be the way to go.

Thanks. I was quite happy with the outcome. That "little 2.0" will kick out some great numbers, especially if you swap ou the intercooler and turbo.

I'll take some vids of it, but right now and for the last few days, it hasn't broken freezing. It has been less than 10° in the morning, so the summer tires are sucking. As soon as it warms up back to our normal 45°-55° winter weather, I'll make a video.

I may seriously have to take one of these out for a boot if I decide not to buyout the G if they're really that easy to tune and fun to drive..

VERY nice Noah.

I REALLY like that bodystyle. Much more than the STI phag-on. It's just classier.

And 300HP/TQ with just a tune and a downpipe? Very impressive indeed.

I consider the boost increase as part of the tune?

Would I have satisfied your reading pallet more if I would have said:
