Yeah the short shifters are the same. I recently sold a short shifter because the stick was shortened so my Nismo shift knob was incompatible. But I did test it on the RB tranny and it worked great. I have a question though. NOt RB realted. Since the SR20, RB, KA, CA are all teh same for the 240.....could Altima owners and 300zx owners use out short shifters......just somethign that has been buggin me. I hate to see the Altima get raped on stillen short shifters.....

I compared the gasket on the Fram PH3682 on the Japanese oil filter on the RB and they are not the same, or dont appear to be, the gasket has a much larger diameter on the Fram than the RB25 oilfilter that was on the engine.

the oil filter numBER -H8911 is for australia.other market will be h8904.

timing belt is marked 20P10 but the service number is 20P25 as its in a box with a sticker.

aust r31 use large fuel filter of R30 and [usa] 810-maxima series]jdm use small filter as they dont need to clean out the gravel.i fin the ideal filter is a late type off front drive cars.n14,n15 and maxima as they have a 90 deg end on the outlet and the hose hangs neat.

on mine i use a subaru forester filter[the right price ] and the hoses are on top.100 000 + filter changes.

yes that it.the black one.I havnt bothered but i like the subaru filter holder aswell.Im a mechanic so i get them for the right price for my car.dont actualy know what prices are.last EFI filter I payed for was was AU$35+

the hoses are on top so you can get at it without fuel spils but it also hold all the rubish inside, this means its hard to check for water ect.the the N15/A32 filters I find have to be pushed off.

australian r31 have the larger filter holder.the nissan originals are getting restricted at 30-40K km so most people use the large bosch filter fitted to GM-H powered N13 [rb30e powered VL].these are much better than the smaller Z200 replacement filter on offer.

I only Quote the last 5 caracters of the part number.the first 5 tell you what it is.IE fuel filter petrol. The next 3 caracters tell you the first nissan the part was fitted too.-41L is a nissan C32 laurel,- 50S to -59S are early R31.the last 2 numbers indicate modifications or different manufactures of the part.-H8901 -h8904 are from japan -h8911 australian suplied.same part basically.timing belt is -20P10 and -20P25[same part] was first used on a 200ZR but superceded the -58S01 [same part]

Here's a new one. This should be usefull. RB20DET coils (22433 60U01 or 22433 60U02) are the same as 1994 infiniti Q45 coils 1 and 2. I cross referenced these and am currently useing them. Works great. RB20DET coils are very different mounting from the NA 300zx which are suppost to be compatible with the RB25det(?). Hope this help some of you. I think RB motors might have a little problem with heat around these coils because of where the are located.

Got my oil pan and thermostat on today.

Alos got my water pump and timing belt in the mail today.

Water pump went on fine although there is a small hole on top above the bearing housing that is not on the stocker, maybe for lubing?

The timing belt looks spot on, but it's not the same brand as the stocker. I can't tell what any of the numbers mean to compare them. Can't put the belt on until I get my head stud and gasket situation sorted out.

Another thing about that head gasket. The holes in the head and block are supposed to line up directly with the gasket correct? No overlap in either direction. Holes are the same size, right? The Paeco gasket has small circular holes for every water passage, not the ovalish holes on the head and block. I forgot what the stock head gasket looked like.
