some may know but my car was totaled this winter due to another driver and i used the insurance money to get an r title and replace the body panels w/ authentic type x pieces. purchased just like this except the car was all gray primer. these are the previous owners pics and a rattle can paint job (that didnt turn out too bad). the car had sr blacktop, fmic, 3 inch exhaust, walboro fp, cone filter, cheapo racing seats, cf vis hood, horrible interior and was a little rough around the edges. it was orig forest green w/ brown interior from the factory. the car had very little interior when i got i so i replaced everything w/ black interior and even did a dash swap. the cheapo seats were tossed for nismo seats and harnesses. i added a rear strut bar (already had fornt apexi), b&m shifter, nismo knob, falken ze512s, hks ssqv (had a turbonetics rator on it), ditched the mbc for a GReddy prof b spec 2, hks turbo timer, 180sx lsd, 180sx glass pieces and tail light center, all red tails, clear fender lights and added a water temp gauge to the boost and a/f gauge already there. the body kit on it was a cheap ebay kit that disintegrated in the accident. heres the pics of before i got it:

and heres after the damage. i started modding it some bout only had it for 2 months before this:

Alright now u see what i was up against. i started by replacing tires and brakes and general maitanance that it needed. i then got the bumper lights, bumper bracket and extensions from mynismoparts.com brand NIB and soo sexy. picked up the rear valence from a member here and then the sideskirts used from jspec.com. the bumper came from a guy in philly i found on pa-nissans.comluckily my good friend i sold my old 240 is going to school in philly and picked it up for me and brought it back. used but only cost me $100 heres some of the cars current body condition. the kit is installed and fits great. i'm in the process of molding it and also filling in the black weather stripping line before it goes to paint side molding the kit covered half of it anyways. i'm also getting a new hatch, u can't tell but mine is hacked up on the inside and removing the roof washer squirter for the hatch and filling over it. t3h body pics (the wing has not been installed for ease of painting and the bumper extensions are also not on yet):ha my bro ^

its lookin good it just all needs to be one color now, lol. as u can see in the pics the tails have been red-ed at this point. i'll get engine bay pics soon but heres my clean hatch:

and the aforementioned racing seats. i need the low sitting brackets cause there a little high, but not too bad cause of fabbing skillz:

i'll also get pics of more interior like shifter and dash area but the seats are hotniz. the most recent preformance mod was my lsdi purchased it a while back but didnt have time to put it in til now when the car was taken off the road. the lsd i bought was just the gearing from a jdm 180sx so i had to crack my casing open and switch the ring gear and other gearing. after it was all back together i gave it a little paint to make it look good but mostly to prevent rusting, came out nice though:

that almost brings us up to the present. right now the car i almost ready for its 2nd try at passing the reconstruction inspection. the main thing holding me back was frame rust (and lack of emissions )i tried to weld the frame but the rust had made it too thin to weld a plate over it. the only way to fix would be to cut the frame off another 240 and cut mine out and weild the new piece in. maybe i'll do that someday but i need the car on teh road soon so the plates were just tacked up there since they wouldnt take a real wield and are held up mostly by ....you guessed it jb weld (and some other goop i had). after i sand the drips and re rubberized the underbody they wont know the difference and the rust wasnt so bad that the cars gonna fall apart, i just think its funny that the paltes are held on w/ jb weld.pics of the rust:then we cut plates w/ the plasma cutter and clamper everything up till it dries:

next i'll rubberize it and be good to go. sorry fot eh long post this is my first really long thread about my build. this doesnt include everything but most of the recent stuff. i'll get more pics of after paint but heres an idea of what instore for it

very near future:-body work and paint- replace my coil packs since one of them fried (might go w/ an upgraded system)- get a cd player (old one died)-nismo oil cap-floor mats- oil press gauge-sparco hood pins (pickin em up tomarrow)-egt gauge

semi near future:- upgrade injectors-oil catch canz32 mafs and tb-metal hg-apexi intake-Greedy puellys-UR underdrive pulleys- gt2871r- tuned ecu (prolly hybridynamics)-alum coolant overflow

farther off future:-rollcage-big brake upgrade- nismo steering wheel- kouki tail lights- and other stuff

going to bed now but hope u enjoyed the thread. next tiem i get a chance i'll get some more interior pics up and talk about my interior conversion and the sound system. later

I'm not into molded kits ethier, what are the small square lights for? They don't look bright enough to be fog lights.

the seats were bought from a guy that has an s14 i mounted them w/ no sliders and megan racing brackets from ebay. they fit alright but i cut and welded them a bitfor a better fit. they're prolly not real but they dont look lke most nismo knockoffs. and yeah i'm gonna do the harnesses different but the rollcage i got doesnt fit (its for an s14) so i made somethin work just so it would pass inspection. thanks for the comments, i'm getting more pics today.

true the seats arent authentic but are much sturdier than the ones that were in there. its not the greatest but theyre very nice and sturdy. and as far as the frame repair its just a temp fix so the inspection guys are pleased. to get the car to the garage today there is no way i have time to cut out a whole frame rail section out, source out news onesand weld them in. this'll do for now

thanks for da props. i cant wait til its painted and the type x wing is on. ronks is lancaster area which is about an hour and a half away from philly depending on traffic. the guy i sold my old car to lives in philly and w/ no traffic on the road he made it to philly from lancaster in 1 hour. i'll be makin a trip down to visit him in about a month so depending on where you are in philly i could let ya know. and no the wheels are 17" anything bigger than that would be too much. the ride is way too harsh cuz the last owner used intrax lowering springs and they suck. i plan on getting coilovers soon, either tein or cusco but i'm opent to suggestions.

UPDATE: the frame is almost complete and i will have finished pics soon and after looking at it really hard i agreed w/ the "dont mold ur kit" posts and sanding the filler down. i only started to mold in the back of the driver side skirt and its not as much what it looks like in the pic, but i am still filling in the weather stripping especially cuz the old kits screw holes are along there and i need to fill em in.

ps- c_dizzle is my little bro who helps me w/ my car from time to time. he just joined today. WELCOME TO NICO, CODY!!

UPDATE:

alright its been too long. well, some interesting things have developed the individual originally planning to paint my car has avoided contact w/ me for the last 2 months. he has my paint that i paid for and refuses to give it back. he also has a body kit of my friends that he painted and wont turn back over. the weird thing is we used to work together and were good friends and now theres all this bullsh1t and hes all pissed at me when i havent even done anything or talked to him in awhile. long story short, my friend w/ the bodykit and i are pressing charges against him and getting the police involved. this should be interesting. on the plus side i did manage to get my type x wing and bumper extensions back from him. the bumper extensions will be going on shortly. the car has not passed inspection since the wheel and hub on it when i bought it do not retain turn signal cancellation. this is needed to pass. so i ordered a splash boss hub which will allow the turn signal cancellation to work and i figured why not? and got a momo wheel as well. the hub got here but im still waiting on the wheel. while i ordered the hub i also got a cicuitsport oil catch can and koyo radiator cap. the oil catch can is going on tomorrow. i have also been prepping the car for paint by sanding the entire body down. i am also taking this time to fill in and remove the lower body line (the one w/ the electrical tape trim) i think w/ the type x conversion it will look very clean. i will get more pics tomorrow but this is what i have for nowpic of the new rad capaaaaaaaaand the sanding begins.

the best thing ive done recently to the car was replace the coil packs. i finally got news in since the 1st coil pack had fried a little bit ago. the coil pack actually melted to the harness wires so i just got a whole new set of four and the harness. upon installing the new ones i found out what happened to the old one. in the wire harness for the coil packs there is a wire that is a little longer and towards the middle makes just a bit of a loop. well when i put the valve cover back on after painting it that wire got caught between the valve cover and the head. the wire got pinched through the insulation and it grounded it self shorting it out. with the new coil packs in it is running on all four cylinders once again. and feels so much faster (ask didderson lol)new coil packscoil packs in, coil pack cover back on, and i wiped everything down alittle.

i also discovered just a little rust poking through around the tops of the strut towers so that is obviously getting fixed. heres how far i got. lol i just started to grind it down then i'll spray it satin black to match the rest of the engine bay.

of course i had to make sure its running correctly so i took her for a quick spin down the road and power braked just a bit, tires really wanted to grab since they only have about 10 miles on em. left decent rubber (nice to see two marks since the lsd is in) but the pic makes it look really light for some reason. its darker than this and i probably could have gotten a better pic but it was an unfamiliar camera and i didnt want to stand in the road fiddling w/ it.

coming soon:i was going to use some chase to upgrade to a gt2871r but after some thought and advice from my friends im focusing on suspension first.

waiting to be installed:-circuitsport oil catch can-splash boss hub (waiting on momo wheel)

currently on the way in the mail:-momo black leather steering wheel- momo horn button

paying for tomorrow and then on the the way:-tein coilovers w/ 15k miles on them

next up to purchase:- z32 mafs (coming very soon, currently highest ebay bidder on one)-apexi intake kit w/ piping made for z32 mafs (coming in a few weeks)-tein camber plates (coming in a few weeks)-cusco rear upper control arms (coming in near future)

ps- since the guy that was supposed to paint my car is being retarded im actually getting my father in law to do it. he used to paint car and just recently got out of it (like a few months ago)

will post more updates soon, going to the junk yards tomorrow to look for a new hatch (rust free). hope u enjoyed reading this

just a quick update. the momo wheel came in and i installed it along w/ the splash boss hub. the horn button didnt come in yet but i slapped the wheel on so i can pass inspection. more sanding to come tomorrow, the front bumper is a little rough so im gonna give it lots of attention. also installing my catch can tomorrow. i honestly didnt get much done because it was raining pretty good this morning. i picked up some black vinyl to cover the door inserts as well as the glove box, so ill take pics of that as i work through it. definitely plan to make more progress tomorrow whether permitting, but at least its a little something. i'll update more tomorrow w/ pics

Yessir, the new Falken tires are definitely nice! Too bad they're still not nice enough for the SR to bust loose.

Glad to see you're coming along w/ building her up again, I've had trouble getting in contact w/ u for the past few days, but now I see why .

Shoulda had more sandpaper n00b, you could have finished the job. Remember what I said about topography when u sand again.

I'm so jealous of your LSD... GRRR I'll get my HLSD output shafts someday soon! But man, nice job on the stuff. About the knockoff seats: They feel great to sit in+much cheaper than REAL nismo's= I don't know why people knock on you for having 'cheaper' seats. In all honesty, they're still better and probably lighter than the stock s13 seats. So who cares

figured i'd update on to what has been going on. i got no work done on the car in the last two days. i spent yesterday cleaning and performing maintenance of my integra to prepare to road trip to nj. then i spent all of today going to nj w/ friend and forum member (legacyofphoenix). took all day but it was worth it to pick up his new car. i wont reveal what it is though, i'll save that for him, but as a shameless plug buy his s13 thats for sale found here:

zerothread?id=271926

its a good car and i am actually the one that sold it to him, lol

the only progress that has been made w/ the car since the last update is that i convinced my wife to get me a cusco sway bar for my birthday (its not for another month but i didnt wanna pass this deal up) also the car is going for inspection tomorrow and hopefully it will pass so i can go through the paper work nightmare of getting a reconstructed title. i'll let you know how it went, enjoy

idk the price form dealer. the prev owner had it installed (the prev owner from me, cuz technically i am the previous owner from him) when i got it last summer it had 20k on the crate motor w/ the paper work to back it up. it's prolly be pricey but oh well. the engine in that car is clean and strong. when i had it i could beat modded ka24de's w/ mods no prob. one guy even made me pop the hood cuz he thought i was turbo thats how bad i beat him. u gotta see the car in person to appreciate it. its one of the cleanest s13s ive seen w/o being restored. this bad boy is all original.
