X, let us know how FF XII is. The reviews I'm reading are generally very positive. I just wish there was a real PS2 emulator out there so I could play it in my room. Maybe I'll just have to break down and get an HDTV in here.

i've invested 18 hours into the game already, and it may very well be the best game out of the series so far (yes, IMO it may even beat 7). the story is the darkest and most mature yet. the dialogue is less corny and actually has some creative and witty humor. the one thing i was impressed with the most was the voice acting. if you have played many japanese translated RPGs with voice acting, they dont usually tend to spend much money on american actors. this game, however, has by far the best voice acting i've heard in a game. the plot is full of suprises, so even if you think you know the game from reading about it, it keeps you guessing. many FF series fans have griped about the combat system in the game before it even came out, but i see it as a welcome change. its easy to get used to and its very in depth. it feels like an active combat system, but it is still time based. there are no random battles anymore, all the enemies are visible on the world map as you are running around. im enjoying the game very much if you cant tell

once i finish the game (which will probably be a while still, im having fun grinding) i will post up a review on the game. im a big RPG fan and have played many, and this easily makes my top 5, near the top of the list. thank god square enix didnt screw this up!

i'd just like to point out that hating anything because of the company behind it is retarded. its like hating on civics because they are hondas, and hating on WRx's because they are imported. please look beyond the label, you may find something entertaining. and get off MS's nuts. believe it or not, its not the be-all-end-all of video games.

I'd just like to point out that Sony pruducts are horribly unoriginal and over priced and under perform. This is evidenced by the fact that there are 12 Final Fantasy games and numerous spin offs, the fact that the PS3 is 600 bucks, the PSP is 200 bucks and guess what the PSP games are? ports of the console versions i.e. killzone liberation, GTA Liberty City Stories, Metal Gear Ac!D, and sony products underperform. At the end of its console life the PS2 is now starting rival Xbox launch games. My hate for Sony is based off of fact all of which is true. I have played each of the FF games and find them boring and unoriginal. SONY MF SUCKS! MICROSOFT FTMFW! Anyways this is a post about a 360 game so the sony talk isnt wanted or welcome AND is off topic.

That why i said earlier that it looks good but it will take 60 bucks and waiting until monday to findout. I have dell XPS gaming computer and BF 2 doesnt look nearly as good by any stretch of the imagination. The pictures I posted of GoW are of actual gameplay... here's the video if you dont believe me. I had this big response then Nico spit it out and rather than type it all out again, I'll just call you an idiot.

My ps2 has seen more use than any console I've ever owned, next only to the original Nintendo. I've been gaming since 1984 on the comodore 64, and have played just about every system imagineable(I even have a JDM PS2 ZOMG!!!).

MS can suck it compared to Sony.

Yes I own an Xbox. Yes I'll buy a 360 for Gears of War. However, I've got more PSP games than I will ever have for Xbox and 360 combined. PWNED *****.

MS-DOS was purchased by microsoft from a company called seattle computer comany (who called the programe QDOS, which was a clone of a programe that started life as CP/M at digital research).

the GUI (Graphical User Interface) that windows uses was ripped off of apples Mac OS, which was ripped off from xerox.

the mouse, yeah, that was originally a xerox invetion as well.

excel is a ripoff of VisiCalc which was a popular spreadsheet program in the 80s

pocket PC, coppied from the palm pilot, which i believe copied the apple newton.

the only reason why beta failed was because sony refused to license the technology for pornography, even though it was the better standard

sony brought us the first magnetic tape, the CD, the DVD, the worlds first all transistor based TV, the worlds first pocket transistor radio, the list goes on and on about sony innovation.

tell me one innovative thing that microsoft has done that no other company before it has?

the playstation controller is second best, only to the n64's controller.

and... i probably won't buy a ps3 for at least a year because, they will be next to impossible to find, and... as with the ps2, xbox360, and original xbox, there will probably be some bugs that need worked out...

not to mention for the price of a PS3, i can get a wii, and half a dozen games

In regards to the Final Fantasy series being derivative and unoriginal....that's crap.

The character/world design alone is generally WILDLY original, as are (usually) the battle systems.

I can attest that 2BN is not a "Sony Fanboy", as I don't believe that he even owns a PS2.

I am not very psyched about Gears of War, but that's because I'm sort of burnt out on FPS at the moment. I'm sure I'll play it eventually.

I'm not sure that MSFT is any more "original" than Sony when it comes to hardware design though.....I think the only company that really qualifies for that is Nintendo.

It's also silly to say that Sony is unoriginal because there are lots of sequels on their system. This is dumb for 3 reasons:

A.) Sony makes hardware, not Final Fantasy/Metal Gear games. Sony has nothing to do with the number of sequels present in either of those franchises (leaving aside that the FF games are not true sequels at all).

B.) The reason Sony has more sequels on its system is because it is the 3rd generation of the Playstation versus the 2nd generation of the Xbox, thus more franchised properties have been around longer and thus been able to spawn more sequels.

C.) Square/Enix and Konami have placed their franchises on the PS3 for primarily one reason.....japanese distribution. The Xbox/X360 will NEVER be huge in Japan because no one there cares about Halo/FPS, and so the PS3 will continue to be the platform with the highest circulation, and thus the big JPN developers will continue to keep their franchises on it.
