This is great news to hear...Aries wrote:heh. this question gets asked more and more lately.
To be honest, no one has done more of these than I have, and I don't make my kits available any more.
I am however in the process of building a new kit complete with K-memeber (bolt it in, not ship it off to be modified like Hensen's kit) and it should be available this spring.
I havent seen you around for a while, hows the car been? How many have you done anyways?Aries wrote:heh. this question gets asked more and more lately.

No, no no. Do NOT get a gen 1 smallblock. Total waste of time.socal_S13Demon wrote:just go get a 350 small black...why on earth are you going to put it in a 97 you should put it in a v8 in like 89-90 something that has less value.
Actually... The LS1 swap is cheaper than an RB swap. I know this for a fact. It'd probably run you at least 2500 less to do an LS1 swap. :/Jett Blaque Vert wrote:If you wanna do a V-8 in something you are gonna need MAD cash and choosing something with a rigid frame is wise.
Is it just me or when your reading this post doesnt it seem like if he was talking his voice would be getting higher and higher? Damn women go fart some sperm bubbles and try not to flame on your first postJett Blaque Vert wrote:WTF???? The Whole point of owning a 240 (for me at least) is that after my project is done I will own a 12 second 4 banger that I can drive anywhere and smoke the Freakin doors off of most V-8's and have a style that few people have. In my state I'd say there is No one that has a S13.5 and only one person that I know has done a SR20DET. Thats Statewide. If you wanna do a V-8 in something you are gonna need MAD cash and choosing something with a rigid frame is wise. Do a newer body S-10 and Quad Link the Rear-end but don't disgrace a 240.
LOL ok i feel better. It's your call tho, I just know that I've V-8ed 89 S-10 350 with a 383 stroker kit and Edelbrock RPM matching cam Intake and carb 700R4 and a Camaro LSD Rear with the mono-link, a 84 Monza 2+2 and have owned several Drag cars including my first love a 69' SS Camaro with a 396 4-spd 4 linked and Tubbed with Tunnel Ram set-up then later a low rise blower. NOTHING puts out the power like a V-8 in Bang for the Buck But for me it's about Bang for the the Cylinder. Power to weight Ratio is everything to me. SO if ya think ya can do it, I say Go for it, if you want to desecrate a fine car But it's not what is important to us, it's what's important to you
LMAO @ this comment!!Check the local junkyards. I bought an LS1 + T56 combo with computer and harness for $900. Pulled right out of an 01 Z28 that rolled over.TheOne wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j31Yj1pZnqQ

i sure would love to do an ls1/t-56 swap in my S13, but finding a cheap ls1 + harness and stuff ain't gonna be ez, and i'd have to learn how to weld:), i would do it in a heartbeat if i had the $$ though.
Are you sure it wasn't a LT-1? (heavy Iron Block version) I think that was the only option in the Z28 in 01.Aries wrote:LMAO @ this comment!!Check the local junkyards. I bought an LS1 + T56 combo with computer and harness for $900. Pulled right out of an 01 Z28 that rolled over.
My kits were running about $1800 for the parts and $2000 for installation and wiring. That makes the total cost of the swap very affordable, and even more so if you do it yourself. Mike (the guy with the black prmered S13 in the videos above did his swap in his garage without any kits. Just from using basic infomation on the internet. So, if you want the swap done badly enough, it can be done cheaply.
where?! i'll take it!Aries wrote:LMAO @ this comment!!Check the local junkyards. I bought an LS1 + T56 combo with computer and harness for $900. Pulled right out of an 01 Z28 that rolled over.

I hope Im wrong, because I could get my hands on an 01 Z28 drivetrain pretty cheap too.
youd be paying a lot more for the engine when you could really do more stuff with the less expensive ls1yelnatsch517 wrote:Not sure if this is completely related, but anyone know how much more difficult it would be to throw an LS2 in a 240? How much more would it cost and how much more fabrication?
the ls6 block isnt superior at all, it makes the same exact power as ls1 and the ls1 can take the same ls6 parts, so really if youre searching specifically for an ls6, you'd just be getting the name. the only reason they got put in was because they started running out of ls1s in 01-02nismofly wrote:youd be paying a lot more for the engine when you could really do more stuff with the less expensive ls1
im actually going to be trying to get the engine out of an iirc 01-02 or 00-01, something like that, camaro SS...its an ls6 block (superior design) and just uses ls1 stuff for everything else, but you can turn it into an actual ls6 or even better without too much difficulty
