Well I bought my white 240 a little more then a year ago and just started ripping into it this spring. I have been to lazy to deal with it till now because I'm kind of undecided on what to do with the motor option.

Picked it up out of Southern Indiana early last spring, its a 1989 auto coupe with 73K on it. Really no rust other then one surface spot and a few knicks and dents and the paint was faded really bad. So it needs a paint job in the near future.

Then I decide I'm going to make it mainly a track car. So I wll have a Drivers seat, passenger seat, 2 door panels and a stock black dash. I have a silvia front end sitting in my garage that I was trying to sell for the longest time. So I figured it needed paint why not throw it on. Also all the parts from the previous 240 plus more are being installed.

So I get everything bolted up and lined up the best I could. I can't find most of the pics right now. Pulled some dents out and pulled everything off that I didn't want painted or painted seperately. Its just stock silvia front fender, stock silvia K's bumper, stock silvia hood, stock K's triple projectors, stock Zenki lip, and GTR R32 skyline Grille.

Then it sits before it goes off to be painted. I rolled and pulled the rear fenders and rolled the front fenders. I also got to chipping about most of the sound deading out and some other small stuff and it weighed in at about 50-60 lbs.

Then I started aquiring and ordering more parts. I got a really good deal on some forgeline rims that I still need to polish. Got bored and started to think about doing a KA turbo, so I started polishing a valve cover and I ground all the letters off of.

So I get word the car is done being painted. I'm happy with the paint job for what I paid for it. I requested he didn't use any mud on the rear fenders because I may pull them more in the future pending my rim/tire combo. I also had the antenna shaved off. Its nissan white with some blue pearl in it.

Piled everything in it and I got it towed home.

I still have to finish chipping sound deading out in some spots and take off the crap left over from it. Then maybe paint it later on, it still needs a cage of some kind.

I get the car home and the trunk blew open on the way home, so I have to realign the trunk and throw in the rear lock. So another opportunity to take some pics before I throw on the front end. Notice the miss matched race rims/tires on it. I also notice that when I rolled the front fender lips I pulled then a little to, so no big deal.

Threw the front end and mirrors on the car in no time. Also added some S14 manual belts.

This is basically how it looks in its current state before all the fun stuff happens.

I got my new wheel studs pressed in my 5 lugs hubs. I still have to put in all the manual trans stuff and do the 5 lugs conversion. Paint the rear subframe, bolt in all my suspension stuff and some other things. I'm still waiting on parts and still some stuff left to order. I still need to order stuff for my motor. I will update it when there has been some noticeable changes so it may be a while.

Looks awesome. Great Progress. Agree on statement on not painting the grill white. Too much. Blacken it out. Did you re-install the front bumper support?

Yeah I used the silvia bumper support, it weighs alot less then the USDM one and probably offers basically not much if I was ever in an accident.

What'd you end up paying for the paintjob?

I have a very similar '93 white coupe I'm looking to do very similar things to (Silvia front, white respray, etc..).

Did you have a connection on the paintjob, or was it normal price?

Awesome paint job! Great car. How is it that people are so lucky to find a car with such low miles? Jealous.P.S: Just don't paint the vents red...

Oh he had a connection alright. It was a hell of a deal, especially for the quality of work done on the car.

Nick, you should really throw up some pics of the s14 too when those body parts come back this week. And my hand is still bleeding from that stubborn starter last night.

looks good.

my donor shell was almost identical (white 89 coupe/brown interior) but it has power windows and had digital speedo (no more auto belts either)

id been wondering what it would look like if i made all teh silvia bits white (usual front end + trunk lid + skirts &rear bumper + rear middle garnish .... my gtr vented grill looks different tho, it has 3 slats

but im painting the shell the color of the original (midnight purple)
