Whats up? new to the site. just sayin hi, I have 07 max se, sonoma sunset, 18" factory chromes, blonda leather interior, all stock for now. planing some upgrades for the summer, cold air, strut brace, nissmo rims, window tint, exhaust, brakes, tires, just to name a few. any input would bee great as this is my first import sports sedan, had 4x4 trucks for the past ten years.
I'm just got a White 98 SE w/Manual Tranny. It has 144,000miles on it and runs really strong the only things i've done so far are the AE headlights, red clear tails, Apexi WS2 rear section, b&m short shifter, and new clutch. I have the Y-pipe and magnaflow high flow cat waiting to go in(I tried to do it today but the bolts on my cat are rusted stuck)
that's about it.. feel free to pm me.. I don't have any maxima friends yet...
Nice looking 6th gen, jsmithsole. I'm not a big fan of the front bumper, but the rest looks great. The little things are my favorite changes--the side marker overlays, the glossy paint on the engine cover, etc.
I like the wheels, too (the BBS-style ones...what are they, TSW?)
Thanks MinisterofDOOM. Yeah it's hard to find mods for the 6th gen, we're working hard with lots of different people to make things happen. This is the Redlinemax (RIP) bumper that I helped to develop and test. And yes the overlays make a huge difference and the engine cover is actually CF, not painted, also from RLM.
As for the wheels, they are Enkei LX-M wheels. I always wanted that BBS look without the BBS price! These are actually my third set of wheel on this car, 4 if you include stock...
Hi everyone and Merry Christmas! I have a 2002 I35 and bought a wired FM modulator for it. I am hoping that someone can give me a little advice on how the panel surrounding the factory Bose radio comes off. I can probably go in blindly but I sure would like to hear from someone that has done it or knows how it comes off. I don't see any screws so I am assuming that there are clips somewhere that release the panel or panels, but not being sure, and not finding anything written about it, I am asking here.
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide me. Sincerely,
We have how-to's on Maximaclub.org or within the NICO Nissan Articles Forum. One of them is a Bose HU removal for a 2k2 Maxima. Should be very similar to the I35 removal process:
That seems straightforward enough. My radio does not look like that one though. Do you think all of them are attached the same way, under the vents and behind the shifter trim?

OK I got the whole nav unit/radio/climate control assembly slid out as one unit, cables still attached. All I need to reach is the antenna, and I have the proper adapters for the Nissan Diversity connector so I am all set there.
My remaining question which I hope someone can assist with is: what is the best place to connect to a switched +12V (red wire)? I have read something about the fuse box but am not clear where that connection would be made. I have also read about using the hot wire from the cigar lighter, or other red wires in the dash. I do not want to splice anything if I don't have to.
Any tips on the best and simplest way to get a +12V switched source? Thanks again everyone. Merry Christmas!!
Just a followup - I did get the whole FM Modulator installed and the dash closed up nicely. It works very well.
Thanks for the assistance.
I noticed yesterday that my nav system won't turn on and raise its screen. You can hear the CD trying to read something, and when I checked the connectors on the back it has 12V power.
I tried to remove those side Phillips screws that hold the nav system to the bracket, but damn those are not budging.
It might be the CD is stuck, it might be a loose connection behind the front panel (which also will not come off and I am mystified as to what is holding it on)
Anybody ever removed a nav system from the I35 / Maxima? Tips on how to get the front panel (that has the buttons) off? How to get those mounting screws out without stripping them? What could be causing it not to operate when it has power?
I sure would appreciate any tips. Thanks in advance.
Hey all, newbie here! I own two Maximas One is a 1990 stock white SE
The other is a black 2000 GLE with sirius radio, GAB (soon to be CAI of course), 15% tint, and silverstar and piaa lights. And all the options (I think). I'm around Nashville, TN.
2000 Blk Maxima GLE ---15% tint, piaa fogs, silverstar headlights, GAB. 1990 Wht Maxima SE--- Stock (For Sale)
Hey, all, not necessarily a n00b here as I had a Y33 Q45 Touring, but since that was taken out by a deer I inherited a '92 Maxima GXE, Automatic transmission, Pearl-finished beige in color, and the only thing I have done to it thus far has been to replace the Factory OEM 15" rims with the 17s from the Q - thank goodness the offset and bolt pattern were identical! Pics coming soon - I just took them after washing the car. It needs minor body work, some minor engine repairs as well as major transmission work (after the engine is warmed up, and especially after forcing a downshift for acceleration, the O/D gear (and sometimes even third gear out of O/D) 'rumbles' - as if skipping.
needs: more grey dot coils (reset p1320 code once a week), shock mount, new bose amp (bad sub), alignment, new plugs, swirl marks removed, langka touch up
99 max gle black, auto , stock except for homemade blue led lighting for now
Most of our projects focus on taking apart a perfectly good car and screwing it up. At least that's what the masses would think. In personalizing, customizing, and focusing our cars on performance above all else, we inevitably upset the delicate balance of ride and handling, horsepower and fuel economy, and perhaps even styling and anonymity that the OEM spent so many billions of dollars to achieve. Whatever, we think they're better.
I would like to maintain a listing of our Maxima/I30/I35 owners. Please post the following information concerning your car: Year, trim, tranny, color, location. If you wish to provide a webpage or gallery link for your car, I will add that information to the list.
For those newbies, please post any question or information you may have on this forum. The more, the merrier.

The Boss (=^_^=) "Take your time to do it right, otherwise you will have to take the time to do it over"
Hello! Thanks for your work with this site. I've appreciated the tid-bits gleaned in the past, but I've just now registered. I'm hoping to find some info to help solve an electrical problem. Where's the best place to post a request for a specific wiring diagram?
The car is a '95 Maxima GLE, bone stock, auto, superblack w/135k. Great car, but winters in Northern Minnesota have not been its friend.
1995 White SE 5 speed, Vincent, Alabama. 225,000 miles. I gave my 89 Charcol Grey SE 5 speed to charity at 285,000 miles : ( If you see me in my 02 Opalescent G35 6 speed with a big smile on my face, well, you know why.
