...and therein lies the danger of believing everything you read.

Just because something new comes out doesn't mean it's a good idea, well-designed, or functional across the board. Here's why:
Android and iPhone users comprise 5% of our visits right now. And the forums load nicely (and fast) on both.
I'm not really convinced that it's all that secure or safe...or streamlined to not blow up. Remember, we have a lot of add-ons and tweaks to the generic phpBB setup, and some don't "play nice" with others.
Whenever we consider something like this, the decision comes down to the fact that an app like that is built for a typical forum...ours is not a typical forum. Size-wise, we're in the upper 10%, and like I said before, we're running a lot of upgrades and modifications. According to the other forum owners on BigBoards.com, it's slow and clunky when activated on a large forum, and the features are too limited to be of any use to most people.
If their way of running queries isn't very well streamlined, we'll blow the whole site up by running it. Not something I'm willing to chance, just to please 2.5% (or less) of our visitors.
Hell...even android forums deactivated it -
http://androidforums.com/support-troubl ... vated.html - If it was so wonderful, you'd think they'd keep it.
From what I'm reading on my other forums for forum owners, seems like the consensus is that most aren't all that fond of it... There are also lots of potential (and very real) security issues. See, they use a 3rd party for authentication, which means if I or a moderator decides to use it and that 3rd party isn't 100% secure, we've compromised the whole place. 10 years of work down the tubes.
Again, we have to look at potential costs vs. benefits, and the benefits don't really stack up.
It also doesn't support Analytics, which is a big issue for me.
