Ok this is my build lol. Im 19 years old and i got very tired of my honda prelude breaking down all time so i sold it and started my 240 project.

this is what i started out with. it was 500 bucks for the shell.

some interior pics

first thing i did was replace the springs on all the struts (there were some in the hatch when i bought it)

the left is the cut spring that was on the strut and the right is a stock spring. seriously...wtf

then i wanted to prep the engine bay for some paint so i did the usual degrease, sand, prime

then came the paint, i like how it turned out.

the ugly s12 rims needed some paint too

then a fresh a coat of gold but i have no pics of them.

i kinda went gold crazy and painted all the door jams including the hatch. i also picked up some bride fabric and wrapped the door panels. not sure if i like the black or the grey better, im leaning more towards the black

then finally i got tired of the nasty half black half red paint with the clearcoat flaking off so i sanded and primed the whole car lol.

definately getting rid of the pignose. no offense to anyone with one i just dont like them at all.

i did, i got a big 6 by 8 sheet of the fabric so i did one of each then did the gradation one over again with the black. i still have enough for a few more doors, some shift boots and glove box.

my motor came like a month after i got the shell.2100 shipped to my garage from jdm-online.com.

it came with a broken CAS installed on the motor but there was a new replacement one that came with it anyway. the only thing that was missing was the maf but i didnt care much ill use the sohc ka one.

i read positrons entire sr prep like everyone else probably has so i started stripping everything off the block.

turbo had surprisingly no shaft play whatsoever.

ups delivered my oem water pump and thermostat when i was stripping the block so i went ahead and put them on

then i painted the block

What the f***? Why use a SMALLER MAF? I may be a kid, but I sure do know what I'm talking about. Just because they say you can, doesn't mean you should. How come you see people UPGRADING the MAF instead of using smaller ones. Using a smaller MAF is for someone too cheap to spend another, what, $5 for a stock SR MAF?

I'm just trying to help with your build. With the SOHC MAF you won't get results anywhere near what you're looking for; especially if you plan on upgrading the turbo.

and i really appreciate this info, but you could definately learn how to criticize constructively instead of being malicious.

Just want to add that i contacted jdm-online about my missing maf and they simply replied " We dont have any in stock but when we get one we could sell it to you." if im not mistaken iv already payed for it.

I was only being a d!ck to JDM4LUGS14BASEMODELSLIDEDRIFTER because he thinks I'm uneducated. Not at all pointed in your direction. I just don't want to see people taking the easy and cheap way out for everything.

it IS a drift car lol. it drifts. and dougs damn good for the minimal amount of REAL track time he's got.

hes tryin to help you, whether he came off slightly abrasive or not... hes right. SOHC mafs are a RUMOR that they are a direct replacement.

they arent. they are so close they WORK, but id never run one myself. stock SR maf's are freakin dirt cheap. buy one.

that is all.

I got my motor from jdm-online as well. Nessar was a cool dude. My cas was broken during shipping.. He sent me a new one for price of shipping. They also sent me a SR20DE MAF with the motor instead of a det maf. I was getting rdy to deploy so instead of trying to debate about it, i said screw it, since I'm not saying stock anyway.

so a few weeks later parts started coming in. i ordered a no name brand exhaust mani and o no! what a surprise! it doesnt fit. the turbo outlet elbow hits the manifold and wont allow the flange to meet flush with the turbo. i disputed the sale with ebay and got a full refund

heres what im talkin about

thats as far as it would go.

i felt like it was christmas

decided to put on the clutch. surpisingly the stock one had a lot of life on it still

got the pulleys on and put the intake side back together

my walbro came in but i found a problem. my gas tank and fuel pump assembly are caked in nasty rust and gas that doesnt smell like regular gas.

ill have another update tomorrow

Yes, a Z32 MAF (N62) is what most people do. People use Q45 MAFs as well.

By the way, I like the build so far. It's nice to see people our age building nice cars.

much appreciated

i love when kids our age build nice cars as well. my freind had his swap done by a shop and that just didnt seem right to me lol. but there are 3 240s in my neighborhood. 2 of wich i have helped do sr swaps in and both owned by sub 21 year olds. i wish they were on nico tho, they hate forums for some reason.

I had the same problem with my exhaust manifold. I have a Peak Performance one though. All I did was grind down the turbo outlet and bam, all good.

Sucks that I moved to hawaii or i'd be helping you out. I moved from apollo beach about a month ago. Did you go to east bay? Never saw your 240 before or your prelude. Brandon (red hatch) has the n/a 240 you're talking about right? I used to drive a black s14zenki, you might have seen it around. I was always at the car meets at Lowes on gibsonton & 301.
