Drinking REALLY packs on the pounds. I didn't touch a drop of alcohol with both of my pregnancies :nono: and pretty much didn't gain anything but baby weight. It was funny...from the back you couldn't even tell I was pregnant!

I have no clue how many calories a have a day. I am more carb (not the fuel induction kind) conscious. Dr Atkin's book literally changed my life about 7 years ago. I know what to eat and not to eat and I try to plan for my "cheats". I do the treadmill 30 minutes a day, but I do that more for my heart than anything else.

carbs arent bad. thats the misconception. its the simple carbs that cause bad weight gain. things like white rice, white potatoes, white bread. stay away from whites. (?) switch to wheat/whole grain breads, brown rice, and sweet potatoes. they have complex carbs which are not converted to fat as easily. you are probably ok considering you do 30min of cardio a day.

after seeing those tailgating pictures, i am proud you didnt touch alcohol during your pregnancies. =) although they say red wine is good. in scotland, they actualyl prescribe one pint of Guiness a day to pregnant women. Crazy Scots.

I am on day 9 of a no booze gym binge and i already can tell a difference. I may just go to drinking one weekend a month if i like the results. i like the results of drinking too, so, its a slippery slope.

wow, what a thread....

I can't give up my alcohol. I gave up smoking 30 years ago, gave up Diet Cokes (hardest thing ever) but I only have so much willpower. Being in the moving industry and with peak season coming up, I will be consuming lots of alcohol.

This is a fun thread.

My job is so intense that I have to be on it and I do not drink at all during the week. But come Friday and saturday, i used to blow it out.

biggie, i would get some Milk Thistle and Pedialyte to nurse yourself back to health after that.

I have fond memories of VIR from before its current upscale incarnation. In the 70's, beer had some strong competition there from other substances, though.

I have fond memories of my liver, too....

ok, so I am going to be the one to get this thread back on track.

i have noticed that when i wax (with any kind of wax) when i get a little bit of wax onthe windshield, it wipes off nicely. is there any benefit to actually putting wax on the windshield? will it make the rain water bead up betteR?

There's rainx for that.

Would kinda be the same. May just have more smear problems with wax. I believe Rainx is more likely to penatrate and bond with the glass, were wax would just be on top of it and could be bad when the wipers go over it.

I would think that after a few minutes of wipes, the wax would be gone.

It is pretty pointless to wax it too often. You will just get build up, and at some point you should probably just do the "dawn liquid, clay bar, new wax (esp. Zaino!)", routine. Once you do the Zaino, depending on what part of the country you're in, reapplication isn't necessary for 3-6 months. I have had the same coat on my G since before Winter, and it is still beading nearly as good as last October. In fact, it is about the only one in the lot here at work that is beading up now (getting some rain FINALLY!) I am a true Zaino (maybe not on the license plates...YET ;) ) convert!

I am going to put a 1'x1' square of Zaino on somebody's car here, and see how long it lasts!

Forms a molecular link to the glass, sort of like Zaino and some other LWPs do with paint.

i do use dawn. and i made sure to get just regular old dawn, not Dawn Oxi or Dawn w/ bleach, etc.

i washed the car with that then waxed with meguiars.

i have a couple diffferent types of liquid car wash but i kind of liked the dawn best.

I still have a big bottle of the Meg's car wash, seems to work well. I use Dawn if I don't have anything else.
