on the serious side, this swap has been done many time; the coolest thing: drop in the rb26 and retaining the awd drivetrain.

theres a member on here "002-M-P" who was doing a 26 into a z33 and going pretty serious on his motor build. then he stopped cuz of inspection issues. I think he's unsure what he wants to do with his motor now, but talk to him. maybe he can point you in the right direction or maybe you can buy his project off him. last i saw his motor was mounted in the z33.

i feelon what u saying . that why toyota stop making the 2jz series it hard to tune those things for stupid america emission laws. but the rb26 is the best motor that nissan has evered made.

no, if they stopped for emission laws it would be because of Japanese emission laws, much more strict than ours. Think why we can get low mile motors from there. Their term and our term of scarp yard is different. Every year their car has to meet emission laws, so the japs find it easier to sell the car and buy one that does meet the laws.

toyota still make good motors, cept it is under the Lexus brand or they don't sell it in USA..and more likely it's going to be a v platform for the same reasons I stated about the VQ...
Rare_f8 wrote:Going with a VQ, is most likely manufacturability... they only have to make one kind of v-6 for all cars, making parts for each different platform the close to or the same. The rb26 is not a FWD platform, making manufacturing time comsuming to make compared the the VQ.

you are exactly right on why we get there motors over here. its not cause they are wrecked but, when the laws change they have to sell..

The VQ series is the only engine to be honored by Ward's 10 Best Engines list every year since the list's inception.
