Hi All, Thanks for the great input on all the brake articles I've read from searching this problem.

However, I couldn't find anyone with my exact problem....

Here is the info:95 S14/ Z32 front calipers (autozone reman)/ new 17/16" Z32 MC/ stock rear calipers / valvoline dot3/4 synthetic fluid.

processes performed:1. Bench bled master cylinder2. gravity bled brake lines3. pump and open valve bled the whole system starting at the right rear.4. vaccum bled the system to finnish it all off.5. adjusted pedal for a quick response up top. ( I like my brakes to come in quick).

Symptoms:1. When bleeding brakes manually by pumping them, the pedal would only go about 1/2 way down when I opened the bleeder valves at each individual corner. Almost as if it were bottoming out the MC at 1/2 stroke??

2. while cruising the brakes feel normal and come in quick. But it feels as if the rears are the only thing clamping.

3. while going from 50 - 0mph I have to stand on the brake pedal with all my weight to get the car to stop and the pedal only goes about 1/2 way down.... about the same spot it would stop when bleeding.

Can someone please thow in some usefull ideas???

Thanks

lift the front wheels off the ground, hold the brake pedal while someone tries to turn the front wheels. It sounds to me like the front brakes aren't actuating.

I am inclined to agree with Ian.Are the correct brake lines being used? I had a friend try short-cutting his conversion, and for some reason, the banjo bolt was either too long or too short. I fail to recollect the details exactly, but after purchasing and installing a set of "proper" braided conversion lines, the brakes acted as they should.

The front brake lines are stainless steel lines from PDM.

The calipers do actuate. I can feel the pads moving when I'm at the caliper with my hands on them and bleeding. I also did try to make sure they were actuating by rotating the tire. I can't turn them by hand if you step on the pedal.

I didn't get a chance to work on them last night. I'm going to take a look tonight.

I'm also going to check how the booster rod to MC clearance is. I'm wondering if its acually bottoming out at 1/2 stroke. If so, I should just need to back the rod out some and know right away.

Is your brake booster working properly.

What if you accidentally flipped the one way valve in the boosters vacuum line?
