can i use the Z32 5 speed manual bell housing, flywheel and clutch, (NA or TT) with the stock Q45 starter in stock location with the mazworx adapter? Will it all bolt up??
the bell housing will be bolted to my 5 speed in my 89 pathfinder.
thanks for the help.

no, read through it again and this, then ask if you're still not sure. you'll have to check clearances between the stock VH starter and VG bell housing, i'm sure you can make it fit but you might have to cut some bell housing out of the way. my flywheel is a N/A Z32 stock flywheel with a Q45 ring gear "pressed" on as I described above.

For engagement purposes, Z32 flywheel with a Q45 ring gear and i would suggest spacing the ring gear out from completely seated by 2-3mm, you can probably just use a bunch of key way stock or something to hold the 2-3mm of space while putting the Q45 ring gear onto the Z32 flywheel so you can keep it strait. the spacing is only a recommendation. i didn't do it with mine. i heated everything as i described above and hammered the ring gear into place. after installing the flywheel and sliding the starter gear out, and looking for "cleaned" marks on the ring gear after starting the engine with no transmission, to look at how much engagement i had, its a very small amount. hence my recommendation of spacing the ring gear towards the starter.

I did start the car with third gear engaged and the clutch out, it pushed forward 3-4 feet. i started it again right after and many times since, so who knows everything could be just fine as is for however long?

i guess if i just use the Z32 starter that is on the Z32 bell housing and clearance the VH block for the Z32 starter to mesh together, along with the clutch and flywheel to match everything will work. at least that is what i read somewhere else. i am going to be using elwesso's new adapter for my swap. everything seems to work on his with the stock VH45 spacer just fine.
