I put this in the wrong section (whoops).

If this was asked before I would like to know.

What made you want to get a 240?

Cheap and looked cool. I was 16 at the time and haven't owned anything but 240's since then.

I did some research and found that the 240SX was affordable, reliable, sporty and RWD. Oh, I liked the way it looked too.

I kind of just stumbled on it. I was looking for a Toyota Celica, but couldnt find one. When I went looking for a Celica and they didnt have it any more. But I saw my 240 just sitting there and went back the next and drove it and bought it that day.

I was within a month of buying an MR2 turbo, but I saw a s13 for a 1000 with a erebuni body kit already on it! Only downfall is that it had a blown headgasket but I didn't care because the sr20 would soon be going in.

i read SSC and saw i could build a silvia for $3k. i knew then after seeing all those articles about drifting that i HAD to ahve one. i was tired of messing with my 96 Civic DX hatch. i did everything to that, I/H/E/C. i did suspension, removed the interior, a body kit, 17" rims, CF altezzas, semi-racing seats, etc. it was just so slow and i couldnt drift with it acfter i saw how cool drifting was. i cant wait to drop my SR in and then get my S15 front and JDm body kit, Volk TE-37s, type X tails and a CF hood. its gonna be awesome. then im gonna dori dori down some canyon roads!

Loved the foglights and the whitefaced guages. I had no idea what kinda car it was or who made it until I looked at mine sitting on that carlot. I was looking for a 4th gen 5spd Prelude Si, cause my buddy had a 5th gen 'lude typeSH. We were gonna roll together, etc. But, I got the 240 and haven't regreted it for one millisecond since. It was a plus that it was RWD, cause when I got the car I didn't know better. Man oh man if I hadn't got that car and found 240sx.org oh so many years ago, where would I be today?

my first 240 was an 89 fastback. i bought it because i needed a car asap. even though it was cheapest, it was by far the best looking thing on the lot.

i bought my convertible because when i saw it i just had to have it.

Thats a classic.

I bought mine because I wanted a nissan, and I was looking at both a 93 300zx and a 93 240sx. Got the 240 because it was a lot cheaper to insure.

I happened to see one sittig on a car lot my sophmore year of HS. I was driving a 74 mustang II at the time. My family had always loved datsun/ Nissan so I started looking into them. 2 years and 2 cars later I bout my 90 hatch. Loved that car so damn much. Then I found my coupe on a lot. Always liked the coupe best and it had lower miles. Bought it. Still rockin' it :D

Always respected the S13 and when I was car shopping, it was pretty much which car I found first (AE86, EG hatch, S13 coupe only, FC3S or SW20 N/A) Needless to say, I found the S13 first;)

Got bored with Hondas (at least on the street) wanted rwd and more torque. 240 was the only car that met my criteria that I could afford to insure. I still wish i would have at least taken that 300z TT for a test drive though.

Plus the 97-98 s14's just look badass.

I beat the hell out of my 86 Nissan Pickup and blew the engine. Instead of paying out 2000 for a professional, warrantied install, I threw the money at my friend's 240sx... he had already done some work on it and, to tell the truth, this car (yes, this EXACT car) was the car the defined "sweet ride" to me: looked nice, sounded nice...

It's kind of like a first love... there may be more like them, but there isn't anything like that first one. Lucky for me, I get to ride around in mine everyday.

whoa...that's creepy, i was doing the exact same thing....my friend owns a 1991 celica gt and i'd been driving around with him and really liked the way it drove we ended up in a car lot when i saw a car that looked good...my 240...came back the next day and test drove it...bought it on the spot...in fact, i like it so much that i've influenced my friend to buy a 1991 240 se fastback instead of his celica!:pface

My first car was being taken from me by my parents because my sister "needed" it (she didn't need ****, she just doesn't work for anything). And since she's my parents favorite, they were like "Bill...go buy a car." So I took the money I had saved and went out that day and bought an s14 I saw a week before hand. Never loved another car more.
