Can't be any worse than most grocery stores today. I couldn't believe that in Kentucky my "California" fresh orange was actually from South Africa. WTF??? Most produce is from some random third world country with (I'm guessing) relaxed health regulations.

When I used to travel to Malaysia, the best food was from hawker stalls on the side of the road. Restaurants were places you went if you wanted air conditioning and overpriced faire.

Growing up in rural Missouri, I'm used to buying pie, burgers, candy, etc. from roadside stands.

I live down the road from james (like 20 miles) and there are only two kind of food "trucks" around here, dont know about lebanon i dont pay attention.

We have these mexican dudes that sell food, everybody is like try it its good. When you literally see bugs on food you get turned away. There are also like 4 smokers in less than 5 miles of my house. Never stopped, but thats simply because of what I have seen from the "no habla ingles?" people

If you are ever in Duluth, MN, which I strongly recommend. Head up the north shore, take the scenic route. When you see the sign for Russ Kemp smoked fish, Stop! it is a rundown little shack on the side of scenic highway 35 between Duluth and Two Harbors, they have the best smoked salmon ever. They also have a wide selection of jerky and sausage. Seriously! The smell inside that place will drop your pants.

A taco truck is kinda rare.

Its in little mexico. Not so bad.....for the first 4 hours after consumption.....

Jesda, I'm envious of your iron stomach. The Cheeseburger bites at 7-11 make me nervous.

That's an Anita's truck, right? Not exactly a taco truck, but still not everywhere.

most have become a rarity :(

there's a guy in Gallatin that hauls a big a** smoker to a parking lot.

I haven't seen one in a while though...seems most just do catering and stuff like the fair.

there's usually 10 or so taco trucks on Nolensville road though :chuckle:

I used to be good, but ever since the Popeyes annihalation of 2009 (free popeyes food for 3 days straight because my friend worked there), my digestive system has never been the same. The oh so delicious jamaican patties from 7-11 gave me nausea and an intense headache. :frown:

I used to buy jerky from some old guy on the side of the road in Spokane where I live (probably the same guy Jesda bought from). It was "really really good".

He had these orange signs spaced out every quarter mile until you got to his van that said things like "REALLY REALLY GOOD", and "REAL JERKY AHEAD".

if you go into the boonies in GA, there's a ton of places that sell boiled peanuts and bbq. I need to go back down there and prowl around. I like driving out on backroads..it's fun.

I've done Carne Asada tacos (at least that's what they claim it is) from roadside stands in Tijuana and Rosarito. Damn good tacos. It could have been because I was hammered, but still good.
