it does when they are too hot and your HAZ is out of control, especially with SS it becomes very brittle and prone to fractures. I give you credit though for a 17 year old and probably pretty new your doing good!, a little hint i learned doing over the top style piping, precision sells those cast ALum elbows that you can weld to the outlet and inlets of the tanks, using those you could have made that piping go tight 90 up and tight 90 over and put that pipe against the top of the core for a cleaner look. but its not bad for a young guy. the only other person i have ever seen that could pull stuff off like that was a neighbor that i started mentoring when he was 14 years old, and by 16/17 he could fabricate complete turbo setups on his own. just keep on practicing on every thing you canMeanGreenS13 wrote:it honestly doesnt matter how a weld looks, ugly welds can be cleaned up.
