"A small car COULDN'T have made that big of a dent"That's INSANELY shaky logic. I can make a Geo Metro make that kind of dent. Hell, I can make a potato moving at enough speed make that dent. It's all about point of impact, velocity, angle of impact, materials involved, etc. Logic is essential here.
As far as I can see it looks as if the contact point of the indentation is right at the level most small car's would impact. IE, if you draw a line from the center point of that impact all the way to the front of your vehicle, I believe you'll see that that point is right where your front end would impact. An indentation at that point could easily cause the surrounding area to be dented as viewed. Not only that, but are we ruling out pickup trucks, minivans, larger sedans, etc? If we are thinking large SUVs the impact point most would make is above where your damage is, unless it was a tire impact, in which case you would see large black marks, etc. I believe a Yukon's front bumper ends roughly around what looks to be the top of that damage. Even IF all these assumptions are completely incorrect, to say that IT WAS AN SUV is EXTREMELY shaky. It's almost laughable by a legal standard. That's not to be condescending, but this seems like another opportunity to try to demean SUV drivers. This is America baby, if I want to drive a gas-guzzling, road hogging, pollution machine to and from the grocery store every day I can do it, over and over and over again.
On a purely logical basis, you were in a hit and run, which sucks balls. Exact same thing happend to my S13, in the exact same place, in a Wal Mart parking lot, hell, I even have a white fastback. How much did you get quoted on repair for your door and quarter panel, I've been scared to bring mine in for the quote...........
