SO is the consensus mobil1 is good for the VH?

I seemed to recall some members saying it didn't have good results on their engines... this is all recollection though, may be totally off on this one

I think this was with the 30 weight Mobil1's.Mobil1 30 weights are at teh thin side of whats still considered a 30 weight.Good for EPA numbers not so good for some other things.

so,,,,,,,dennis or fred, an opinion on my question????????

if using top-notch synthetic, and getting no where near 3750k miles in 3 months, can any possible harm be done by going with a bi-yearly change????????? at the rate i'm going, i only put around 5k miles a year!!!!!! if oil really doesn't break down by simply sitting in the cranckcase with non-use, can changing at 6 months with around 1500 miles or less, be harmful???? not that i can't afford the changes at 90 days, but hate to be simply wasting money and time if totally unnecessary!!!!jeffps- i guess the best way to determine is to do an analysis at 90 days and another at 6 months

Fred will surely respond soon, but he has used Valvoline and Mobil 1 synthetics in the past. From what I recall of his posts, his current oil is Mobil 1 0W-40.
