That increase is minimal and no cables in the way ? What do you guys think ?

You have wires.... if anything id mount it high, with a stealth cord... and if you dont have a power mirror, id still mount it high, and then run the wire like a big C around the windshield to the fuse box..

Mounting it higher is def an advantage.

here ya go...its the fuse box under the drivers side dash where your left knee would be. if u hook into this + wire it will turn on and off with your cars ignition.

DAAN... your IPod... I see it plugged into AUX port... but whats the white one for? Power? I'm actually thinking of doing something like that. Where can I get a clip to hold Ipot like that?

mounting your radar detector up top is better for detecting radar but if you have laser detection mounting it lower is better for laser, and the tint does affect the reception of radar......i dont know how much it really does affect it but on most major radar brands web sites they do say avoid mounting it where tint is at. and you dont have to worry about getting in trouble with cops because the only states its illegal is Washington dc and Virgina. and military bases you can have them but they have to be off
