Yes....I know they're virtually impossible to find, but I spoke to a spring manfufacturer this weekend at a show and he says he can make them. The catch is that we need at least 12 buyers.

I'm not sure of the drop or spring rate for the new springs....maybe identical to Eibach, or evena lower drop.

The manufacturer is Road Magnet http://www.roadmagnet.com. They made springs for my 2nd Gen Lexus IS and I love them and they were the spring manufacturer for the Team Lexus race cars, so I figure these guys would be a good candidate to make the M45 springs. I will use my car as the donor but like I said, we'll need 12 confirmed buyers.

Any thoughts or interest in these??? Also suggestions on drop, spring rate, and retail prices.

Please email me because I don't check the forums often.

I'll email you, but let me bump this thread.

I'm one of the 3 with eibachs installed on the Y34, but depending on the drop and spring rate of these road magnets, count me in. I'm not sure what the spring rate is on the eibachs, but I'm sure someone will do the research. I'm thinking 1.1 front 1.2 rear would be safe and within spec for a perfect re-alignment or even 1.0 front & 1.1 rear. The eibachs are 1.0 all around I believe.

just to give you all an idea with eibachs and a 1.0 all around drop .

front 1.0 drop

rear 1.0 drop

the rear quarter example

I would be interested if the price is right... will they work ok w/ the stock 18" rims? I'll be upgrading at some point, but this will be a winter car for at least another season...

I'd almost consider purchasing the extras for resale on ebay... there has to be a greater market out there.

Money is tight now for me but if the price is right and the drop is nice then count me in Mark. This will be until I can put together enough for air.

1.4 ?!?! ?? I recently had my front suspension links changed out. The symptoms were a small thunk over speed bumps or cracks in the road. I took the car into the dealer and they changed the suspension links out under warranty while completing my 30k service. It took a whole 30 minutes and they didn't remove the wheels. The service guy explained to me that they may have been worn or it may have been due to the 1.0 drop from the eibachs. Since they replaced them I haven't had any thunking. So be aware of a drop over 1.25. Not to mention the camber correction needed for 1.4 inches. My service guy mentioned 1.25 max on this car and anything else would be outta spec and would case major tire destruction, so look closely at my pics above and jugde for youself what a 1.4 or even a 1.25 would look like with 20's. I barely have a finger gap.

Or they could be just worn out from before you had the springs installed. The only real suspension problems I have seen because of lowering has been tie rod ends because of the change in geometry, thats all.

I'm sure Mark will bang out all those details if and when the time comes. The fact that he is willing to loan his car for the project is golden. Eibach, H&R, Ground Control, etc.. all design their springs with a model car on hand.

i hear you . i just dont want it to be too firm. car already rattles. i had cars in past with both types of springs and the best was progressive one. softer on the junky streets. high speed racing on the high ways over the bumps better too. wrx with progressive was better then mustang cobra with reg. sport springs doing over 130.

We are just showing interest in the springs for them to start doing the R&D. I will need to see the finished product and a testimonial from an owner for me to make the final purchase. Its a good thing that a manufacturer has jumped on board with this.

This is exactly why I asked what specs most people would want. You can take a wait and see attitude but without 12 serious buyers, who by the way will have input on the specs, we're just passing gas.

I need serious confirmed buyers who will purchase after the finished product is done. If not, they're not going to spend R&D money to sell a few sets.

What's up with you?????

Wow I can really feel the love in this thread...

Anyway, Mark it looks like we have the minimum... what kind of timeframe are we looking at until we'll have some more info on rates and pricing? As well as drop specs and whether or not we're going to need a camber kit or whatever.

Mark, I think the only way to find rear SERIOUS buyers you will need to collect a down payment or something. Im willing to bet that when the time comes half of the list will back out.

Eyedea, I didnt add my name to the list for the simple fact that I am not 100% sure if Id want them or not. The simple instructions were to add your name if you are a "confirmed buyer", that of which I am not as of yet.

So would the same spring rate and about .2-.4 " lower drop than Eibach do the trick?

Turnaround would depend on Road Magnets availability and my availability.
