I have been talking to Infiniti Parts USA to obtain a quote on the parts I need to overhaul my Anniversary Edition with the adjustable suspension.

Here is the list of parts that was recommended. Interestingly the price on the strut inserts is the same as for the non-Touring version. I questioned them on this and was assured they are the same price. I assume then that the price difference often mentioned is if someone would purchase a complete Strut assembly versus the strut insert?

From those who have carried out a similar rehab, does this list look correct. I am also going to order sway bar bushings.

Seq Part Number* Qty Description Price Each 1 56105-6P926 2 ABSORBER KIT-SHOC 500 $174.00 front strut inserts

2 54320-3H900 2 INSULATOR ASSY-ST $37.99 front strut mounts

3 56210-3H925 2 ABSORBER KIT-SHOC 500 $188.14 rear shocks

4 56218-61L10 2 BUSH-REAR SHOCK A V07D $ 2.84 rear upper shock bushings

5 55034-0P000 2 SEAT-RUBBER,REAR J32 $11.69 rear upper spring seats

6 56217-39U00 2 BUSH-REAR SHOCK A $3.17 rear upper shock bushings

7 54034-4P000 2 SEAT-RUBBER,FRONT J29 $13.10 front upper spring seats

8 54476-5P000 2 BUSH-MOUNTING,TEN J31 $31.26 front tension rod bushings

i don't see the dust boots, unless they are part of the kit- (they were NOT for my 97t).the p/n you have listed for the tension bushings is only for the puck, not the whole tension rod. not a problem if you have someone to press them for you (remember arrow direction).

i personally was fine with doing cartridges on the front.

Are the front strut bearings included?

The front t strut mounts are less expensive than the regular ones.

If any of this helps, I also did this on my AE.

zerothread?id=223222

and here are scanned images that I just dug out of my file cabinet, this should be helpful for you...

One word of advice: be VERY careful not to strip the sway bar links with the allen head. Mine were brittle and had to be cut off after I stripped them. Be sure to use a socket with an allen on it, and not an allen wrench if they are corroded.

Other than that, pretty straightforward. I however replaced the entire hub assembly and not the shocks alone. I thought ONLY on the NON-AE Q's you could replace the inserts alone. I was under the impression for the AE the entire strub and knuckle was one piece (mine was, anyway!!!). See the pics in my thread.

Oh, and although no one every answered the question I had at the end of the thread, the answer is too bad. You have to destroy them in removal (99% chance) and buy new speed sensors, at over $100 each. Another reason to do the insert alone if possible. Good luck!

Here's a repost of the pictures I took of my parts when they came:

Thanks so much for this detailed reply and the photogrpahs. I need to double check on the availability of the inserts, as Infiniti Parts USA advised that I could order them as a stand alone item. However, if yours appeared to be all in one, then it looks as if they quoted me in error. I will re-post once I get a clarification.

So nice to see that new-looking black assembly when I look down there - but you're telling me the metal insert threads out nix?

Yes, with a can of oil. About $170 vs. $240.
