Hello folks,
had my 2000 q45 250,xxx miles
for about 3 months now.
And I've fix the brake problem

But now I have a very annoying and concernin problem I have no idea about
I recently got my sparks plugs changed and after that service,
My car will shake only when its on drive
I think its misfiring shakes but why? And where?
The check engine light scanned out o2 sensor and knock sensor
so I chanhe one of the o2
but anyone know or experience this?
Is it the knock sensor?
and what grade gas do you guys put in your 33?
Thank you folks

Hello!
Does it shake only at idle, or a shaking/shuddering thoughout acceleration? 250x miles, nice. I am curious if you have the original transmission. Always premium gas, 91 or higher. A knock sensor malfunctioning will not manifest any type of shaking, however the engine will run slightly retarded, so the condition of a bad knock sensor may better reveal another issue. Is your idle at 650rpm? I have much experience with the knock sensor, and it is not a fun project:

Is the shaking all the time?

OEM specified NGK spark plugs? If not, remove immediately and install the correct ones.

Uhoh, thanks for your input.
I did change the sparks to NGK IRIDIUM. Is that okay?

And

The car only shakes when its on D most the times, and sometimes its smooth but most times it'll shake.

I want to juice the old engine out by throsing fresh parts in but I want to know which one.

And folks, do you gys rebuolild your engines? Or just swap?

NO! RTFM! PFR5G-11 or PFR6G-11 in a hot climate.

The NGK iridium won't do any harm to the engine (unlike some other brands), but neither will they help.

Such a bust but I was going to change the new iridium sparks soon.
But after you told me about premium gasoline, I drove all my 89 gas away and got $30 of 91.

Bam!
The knocks are almost totally silent. Premium gas makes that much difference to qs?
Or is there somehing still wrong
but its awsome haha don't mind the $0.20 more

Since 72k when I bought it, until 215k now, my Q has never seen a drop of anything under 91. One time, I got to a gas station with my GF, and all they had was 87. I was nearly out, and elected to have her wait with the car at the station, and I walked one-way 2 miles and back to get a gallon of 91 :) It's really that important. She still gives me s*** for it.

As for the shake, we need to first determine if it is a low/high idle, or a rough idle. This happens when you tell us what the engine idles at (should be ~650rpm), and if it is any different when it is rumbling.

The premium gas sure smoothen things out
however, mg q is still suffering from the issue.
Its probably knock, o2 sensors or valve cover leak
I'm going to slowly replacing parts, till this engine is retired.
I can always ise the replaced parts on my new engine

Thank you for recommending premium gasoline!
And yes! Rtfm!!

If you pull all the plastic covers off you can get to the coil packs, knock sensors, and the value covers all in one. I bet you do that and the engine will service you for another 100k without anything more. these are solid motors and at the age you car is at, for sure those are all toast.

I'm really noob with cars, as in I can do my oil change and maybe replace parts like slave master like I dd before. But I knew my knocks were bad but I was apart from it for my shop charges me a grip, as they say they need to open up to the core for knocks. Is it DIY? If so I'm down to tey after I get my bike as my primary ride. Thanks for your input folks thank you

check the harness that connects to each coil as they are spring loaded and sometimes takes extra amount of pressure to make it catch onto the coil. sometimes some mechanics dont pay close attention to detail and dont have them connected all the way. i would start there and then if that is not the problem do like everybody says and wait for the ses light to come on and tell you which cylinder is misfiring then change that one coil and you should be good.
