I prefer Zion's National Park and Snow Canyon and other southern Utah rock. Nothing like hanging from one hand hundreds of feet above the ground.

That sucks, man. I just moved into an apartment with a friend of mine about a month ago. At first, I didn't think he wanted to move out of his parents house, so I was desperately searching for a roomy. I know how it goes.

And if you are living with your parents, it means you aren't spending however much money on an apartment ($500 a month minimum for anything but a cardboard box--mines $658). That means you can spend it on a car. Although, conversely, if I was still living with my parents, I most likely wouldn't be able to work full time.

Anyhow, I feel your pain.

No. Two is company. Three's a crowd. I'd much rather pay the extra $100 than have to deal with someone else. Besides...it doesn't decrease rent. I'd need a 3 bedroom, which costs a lot more. Which means all three of us would be paying 330 a month. The individual pricing doesn't change, so it's not worth it.

YOUR share is 422/month? Damn! My apartment is pretty small, but it's more than enough for me...a place for my bed, a place to cook, and a place for my PC, TV, game systems, etc.

No offense, just an observation, but WHY would you spend as much money as you did on that P4 when you could have had an Athlon 64 FX for LESS or the same price? The FX is better...especially for graphics intensive things--which I assume, seing the GeForce 6800, is the purpose of your computer. Even the EE can't match a FX.

ROFL! You wanna go there too? How about no hard drive at all with green on black monitor? Apple II+ baby. My first computer with a hard drive held all of 40MB. Anyone remember the term "clone"? Remember when "hacker" was a term of high esteem? I actually know what it's like to be completely freaking thrilled just because I didn't have to use a boot floppy to boot up my computer!

Heh. I had an Apple II...might still have it....I had dual disk drives and full ram capacity and Spy vs Spy!!!

My next oldest are my two oldest laptops. One is a pre-dos Hitachi...needs a batter. It has no hard disk. The other is a 80286 Comaq. It runs at about 12mhz and has NEARLY 2mb of hard drive space. This "Laptop" is two and a half inches thick when closed. There is a space in the center to store a full size mouse. The keyboard detaches and has fold down feet so you can use it like a desktop. There is no built in mouse.

I have a closed stacked with old computers and laptops. Most of them are franken-ized. I had an old Unix server running all sorts of parts that didn't belong. The tower was nearly three feet tall. It had dual 80486 processors with massive heat sinks and big *** fans, together almost reaching 100mhz. It had 24mb RAM. It was a Diablo LAN party MACHINE! Even had a tape drive. That one...don't remember where it went, either.

Maybe I could sell all these antiques and buy my AMD FX53. If I'm lucky, I'll win the $6000 Falcon Northwest PC that PCGamer is giving away...

I dont go back much further than a 3.3MHz (or was it 2.3) Commodore Colt, with 640k ram, CGA graphics, twin-360k floppies, and an Intel 8088 CPU. It was Commodore's last-ditch effort at relevance before finally kicking the bucket -- anyone remember all the TV ads?

That was... 1988 I think. I was about 7 years old, and it was nearing obsoletion back then anyway. We took it to thailand in 1994 to give to some buddhist monks, but when we showed up they had a fully networked and modernized computer lab. They write books and do research.

That belongs in a film comedy. Or has it been parallelled in too many already?
